This is a beautiful road. They call it the: Route de la Traversee. The road goes from the Route de la Traversee.

The trees are beautiful. The mountains are unique as well.

We can stop to see a waterfall as well, which is beautiful.
It's name is Saute des Ecrevises.

Once the road stops we are close to the Zoo.

I often drove here. It is so gorgeous!

A must see!

Picturesque and very convenient way to visit this part of Guadelupe. Do not try to overspeed, the curves are sometimes scary and always short. But the pavement is in good condition. Very crowded in weekends.

Lots of curves and turns. The people on this island drive like they’re crazy and will tailgate you nonstop so you can’t really stop at all. There’s really nothing to see here. Just trees, rocks, lots of curves and turns, and crazy tailgaters. Be prepared for some road rage!

The Route is actually a short cut going up and down through the national park. As the road makes a lot of curves you`ll have to pay attention but it`s a very nice drive through forest and you can stop in a good weather at view points and take very nice panoramic pictures with views that go down to the shoreline.
There are more attractions on the way but the main one are on one side the busy with tourists easy to access waterfall (Cascade aux Ecrevisses) and on the other the zoo (Parc de Mamelles).
So probably you will take this road for practical reasons but our recommendation is to enjoy a bit the views and take some beautiful pictures from the top of the island.

This road cuts through the island’s jungle interior, and is steep and twisty, so be careful. Not worth a special trip, but it’s and easy route back to Pointe-à-Pitre and a pretty drive.
