“Great Flat but poor customer service”

This apartment is one of the best we have stayed in. The pictures are true to the reality and there was no disappointment. The flat is located in a cute little residence behind the local supermarket ( great for your food shopping, however can be a bit busy at times to come in and out of the residence, with the delivery trucks parking near the entrance). There's ample parking in the residence so there was never any problem to find a space. The marina is a few minutes walk away with restaurants and bars, and a lot of cute little shops, with clothes and beach items. the flat has got all the amenities you need: the washing machine and dish-washer, toaster, kettle, microwave, hob and plenty cutlery, plates and cooking stuff. The bathroom is a bit dated with a small shower cubicle, which proved a bit tricky when showering my 5 year old. There's even children story books in the bedroom, which were really appreciated.
The only negative was the local manager. On our contract it said we could have the flat from 14.00, and also as we had had problems with our flat, the owner had kindly agreed that we could have the flat before (as we had arrived a day earlier), however the local manager said the check-in would only be from 16.00. After a discussion she came at 15.30. There are a lot of 24h water cut in Guadeloupe because of the drought. When we arrived one started, but the manager said it would probably be for 4hrs and didn't give any more details. We had to find out for ourselves that we would have 4 water cuts in our 2 weeks holidays ( there are plenty of filled bottles in the flat in case of a cut). We asked when she would come to give us fresh linen as we were staying for two weeks and the contract mentioned fresh linen, she pointed at the washing machine saying that we could wash it ourselves (unfortunately there's no space to dry 3 pairs of sheets + towels); alternatively we could pay €18 for 2 people for someone to wash the sheets. To be fair, in all the flats we have rented (even with a washing machine), we were given fresh linen every week. she advised us also that if we wanted the flat cleaned on our departure it was €70 - which is extortionate. The last hiccup we got is that when we asked to stay on the last day 30 minutes extra, she said that she used to say yes but she didn't any more. As the last 24 hours of our stay fell during one of the water cuts, and we couldn't stay a bit longer when the water was back, we left a day earlier and went to a hotel as we couldn't face 48 hrs and a long journey back home without a shower.
I would give 4 stars for the flat but 1 star for the customer service ( the manager didn't call once to see if everything was ok, didn't help with our stay etc...)
