“Lovely lunch”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Having visited the area for several years, we were lucky enough to find this pub open. With it being in a small village it does not open on a Monday or Tuesday lunch. The pub was very nice inside, I could imagine the miners from the nearby lead mine once waiting inside for payment of their wages before begining their evening of drinking after a hard week in the mine.
The menu offered many different choices, my friend and I both went for the pie, we were both very impressed! The portion sizes were very good for a lunch, hence we were too full for a pudding, we did have a coffee before moving on down to Loggerheads.
I would like to return in the evening and spend the night eating and drinking in this very friendly pub.

“Fantastic food”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

We were recommended this pub by our B&B. Its a lovely cosy pub with lots of seats outside. It's only quite small inside and only open at certain times.
We both had the steak and ale pie. The mustard mash was great, and my partner said the chips were lovely. The pie had lovely big chunks of meat and a nice fluffy pastry.
The locals were lovely and friendly and we met quite a few people with their dogs.

“Gorgeous home cooked food with 'proper' homemade chunky chips!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Went here last Saturday and we are looking forward to returning asap. Recommended to father in law who's going Friday. Gorgeous food, friendly people. The BBQ ribs fell off the bone, nicest I've had, garlic bread again gorgeous, burger massive, lovely flavoring, chips 'heaven'. Lamb shank fantastic. Children (age 12, 9 and 3) had chicken nuggets, only 3 but homemade n children said the best they'd ever had and they had the gorgeous chips n beans so fine. Can't wait to go back.

“Nice beer”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Bank holiday Sunday lunch - weather was good enough to eat outside and very good Theakston's beer.
Would be better if dogs were allowed in when quiet [and weather bad!]

Thank you for taking the time to review The Miners Arms. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to us over the bank holiday weekend. We allow dogs in outside of food service hours or if there is nobody eating at that particular time. This is usually at he discretion of the management so always come and ask if in any doubt. We hope to see you again soon!
