What a great way to spend an afternoon. Very quiet and almost secluded. Not the best for swimming but sand so soft to relax on.

Such a beautiful beach with a reef close to shore giving a safe bathing area but a wild sea beyond. Trees border the beach giving shade and plenty of seating nearby and a number of places to eat, the best being Aggie's.

There is a lovely little information center and we had an AMAZING lunch at Aggie's (truly one of the best meals of our entire trip, and it was really reasonably priced).

Small area that is safe for swimming behind the coral formations. but the setting is absolutely stunning. Pics speak for themselves.

As the beach at Bathways is protected by a limestone reef, the sea is much safer to enter than at Levera. However, it is still quite restricted. Alot of local people go to Bathways, but mainly sit in the water and chat - it's not really for proper swimming. The seas on the the Atlantic side of the island are rougher than the Caribbean side, although we were told that seas in December are particularly rough, so it might be better at other times of the year. Also, do go to Aggie's if you get the chance - it overlooks the beach. Aggie is a real character and cooks great local food. The fried lambie was much better than I had eaten in an expensive hotel in the South
