“Awesome beach! Great for a long walk, or a long rest.”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Pros: Nice sand, little wind, great views, lots of places to refresh along the way, beautiful water. Cons: Craft peddlers, but not pushy. Some shady characters, but after many days on the beach, never an issue.

“Perfect beach”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

The sand is so soft and fine grained.
The hotels are nice, and the waves are not huge, but also not small. The beach is never too crowded.

“Fabulous beach, really tasty local food”
Reviewed December 25, 2013 via mobile

One of the best access points to this world renowned beach is via the small but perfectly formed Camerhogne Park; wash room facilities on the park, plenty of sea grape trees to shelter under on the beach. Absolute heaven.

Across the road from Camerhogne Park is Wall Street - chemist, banks AND the most tasty and plentiful choices of local food (local prices to boot too). Grill Master; huge menu, try the fish wraps, stewed pork, callaloo, other vegetables, smoothies/local drinks. $EC15 will get you an enormous meal - you'll not be disappointed. Other vendors selling; sugar cane juice - pressed right in front of you, local fruits. Wall Street comes alive at nights too; local meeting point; food, music & drink - go on, you know you want to.

What more could you wish for day or night on such a beautiful Caribbean Island?

Carelessness ruins this pristine beach & local area, I'm a visitor & would like to keep on vacationing here. Dispose of your garbage properly. It pains me to see polystyrene food packages and plastic bottles littering the area.

“Walk Half Mile from Water Taxi”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

Hi,
From you cruise you can take the water taxi, $8 includes return ticket, to Great Anse Beach. This is a typical carribean beach but plan to get mobbed and surrounded by all the other tourists. Some nice food and drink nearby. But, if you want more quiet and less obnoxious people keep walking we went about half mile found a nice shade tree. There were others nearby. A quiet resort backed up to the beach with a bar inside.
My advise - turn the tourist trap into nice beach experience by not stopping until you get some peaceful white sand.
