“Fun if you're in the area”
Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

This was a nice trip with the highlight being seeing the monkeys nearby. We took a short hike where we saw the abandoned crater..grand etang lake. There's nothing much to do apart from visiting the lake and seeing the monkeys.

“out and about in grenada”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

If you are a confident driver it is wonderful to hire a jeep, many people visiting only go to grand etang but there are great sites all over the island mourne jaloux ridge has marvelous views and going up to st patricks is a great day out stopping of for lunch at almost paradise is a real treat it isnt to expensive either it cost us about £250 for a weeks jeep hire. But be sure to get comprehensive insurance cover and a mobile phone is a good idea but there is always someone with a phone happy to help.People are very pleased to see tourists further a field and wave as you drive by though at times it may seem you are in the middle of know where you are never far away from help. It is such a shame not to explore and stay in the hotel for 2 weeks and while you are out try and spend a little money it all helps the local economy.

“Not Worth a Special Trip”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

If you're travelling around the island and traversing the rain forest, you may want to stop at the visitor's center for a view of the uninspiring lake. It was brown and swampy looking. Yes, there is a monkey in back by the restrooms that can be fed. Beware as a lady had her hand bitten and was on a dose of meds for a week.
Typical tourist stands, pathway singing, etc when thye cruise ships are in.

$2 USD per person fee.

Drive to the lake and bring bread/crackers to feed fish......... there are some large ones.

The path around the lake was untamed and had 6" of muds in many places.... might be better if it has been dry.

“Lots of fun and beauty”

We only stopped here briefly and look forward to going back to do some of the hikes next time. This time though we did get to play with the very friendly Mona Monkey. They come right up to you especially if you have a banana. :0)

“The rainforest is not to be missed”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Complete with hiking trails and monkeys, a trip to the top of Grenada is a wonderful, soul satisfying experience. Plan on at least a couple of hours on site if you are hiking, half that if you're not.
