We have now bought about 6 things from the potter here. When you go there, make sure you walk around to the walk, you'll meet the wonderful potter and be able to buy his things for a very reasonable price!

“much of the same items but also some gems”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

I had been wanting to visit this our entire stay in Grenada, but each time we drove by there were only a couple of stalls open. We learned that they only all show up for some big event (like the sailboat races the first weekend of Feb), or when a large cruise ship comes in....can understand it from their point of view but disappointing from the tourist side, especially during high season. At any rate, many of the stores carry the same things, especially in the "permanent" stall area closest to the main road - there are some unique items if you take the time to browse, and they are open to haggling. Be sure to go on one of the days when all are open, because in the area by the beach that has tables set out more informally lining the walls, there are some artisans who are selling their own creations. Found some unique jewelry there, wind chimes, spices (of course) and other art. Worth going to, especially if you like locally produced/created items, which we do. There is also a gift shop in the Carenage area called Tikal which has locally made gifts, crafts etc - they do not haggle but have some very nice things. And don't miss Art Fabrik, the hand-dyed clothing is beautiful!!

“Fun place to buy a souvenier”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

This facilitiy was built by the government to limit vendors from being like ants at a picnic if you aare sitting on the beach. Vendors rent 10x10 indoor and outdoor booths and display spices, hats, dresses, turtles carved out of everything from coconut shells to cardboard. Any item you did not know you needed is there.
I bought a palm frond hat made to order. It dried perfectly and is light weight and airy. As usual, my wife found a neckless and earings made out of seeds, shells, and rocks that she added to her colection. Se also bought a dress for $20 US that she wears there and at home.
Last year we found an oil painting that we bought. Beach scene. hey were asking $300 US but took $100 US.
I would not make this a destination but a must if you are on Grand Anse beach. And you should be on Grand Anse beach if you visit Grenada.

“Not bad”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Lots of little vendors to get souvenirs at. Not as crowded as the market and on the outskirts of town. Did drop by here a few times when I lived on the island to get stuff to take home for people.
