“"A day sail to satisfy both new and seasoned sailing guests"”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

I arranged a day sail with Footloose Yatch Charters for 11 friends. Our group comprised of visitors to the island - some new and some repeat travellers, family and Grenadian friends. I was looking for a relaxing day in the sun, viewing Grenada's coast line from the water, a little snorkelling, good food, refreshing drinks, and a knowledgeable captain and crew. We got it all and more. This was my second time on Timshel and I wanted to share the experience with my family and friends this time. Everyone enjoyed the day to the max! Alston is a very experienced captain and along with crewman Kenny we had a fantastic day. Alston was again a delight to chat with as his knowledge of the waters and the islands is extensive. Kenny was so very helpful and pleasant - attending to his sailing duties and looking after our gang with enthusiasm.

One of our guests tried snorkelling for the first time as she felt safe and comfortable and
it turned out to be a thrilling experience for her.

We could not have been more relaxed. There was plenty of drinking water to keep hydrated and ample shade from the sun. Timshel is roomy so even with 11 of us we did not feel crowded. While we swam and enjoyed the snorkelling a BBQ was prepared for our lunch accompanied by a variety of dishes including fresh salads etc. What a spread! The sun worshipers among us lazed on the trampoline and we sipped on tasty rum punch, beer or soft drinks.

This was a day sail to satisfy both new and seasoned sailing guests – some calm waters and some more lively waves. We left the dock on time and arrived back as scheduled. All in all a super day on the water! By the end of the trip our visitors were all ready for a week aboard!

Prior to the trip and during the process of booking, my emails/enquiries were answered promptly with very informative responses from Margaret. She made all the arrangements for the trip and prepared our delicious lunch. Thank you Margaret! Alston, our friends were very impressed with your BBQ expertise off the stern! Thank you so much for a super day!

Some comments from the rest of the gang:

“It was a great day. Loved the food “

“I felt really safe on the boat and had a great time. The food was yummy as well. I would do it again. It's one of my best memories”.

“The highlight of the vacation”

“wind in my hair, rum punch in hand and riding the waves under sail – great day”

“A perfect day on the water!”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

A group of 6 chartered the Timshel out of Grenada and spent the day sailing with Captain Al and First Mate Kenny. We were spoiled rotten with a delicious lunch, snorkeling, sunbathing and of course, sailing up the East coast of Grenada. Al kept us entertained with his local stories and history of the island. Kenny is a dear and anticipated our every need.

I highly recommend the Timshel and it's crew! We will do again!

“An unbelievable week long adventure and birthday celebration”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

My wife and I along with two other couples could not have gotten any luckier in finding the perfect charter for a week of sailing in the Windward Islands for my 50th birthday. Captain Alston de Roche is not only a spectacular seasoned skipper who knows these waters better than his backyard he is a great host, teacher and all around trip companion. Outside of the sailing, hands on participation and enjoying the beauty of our environs what we came to take pleasure in being with Captain “Al” is his knowledge of the people and history throughout the islands. Through his connections and relationships we met a cadre of characters, interacted with the locals and experienced the culture beyond the surface of typical tourist destinations.

It is not ‘IF’ but ‘WHEN’ we return to the Windward Islands it will be a two week adventure aboard the Timshel with Captain Al.

“Sail away from worries”
Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We very much enjoyed our stay on the Timshell. Captian Alston is one of a kind and has over 40 years of experience sailing the Caribean waters. We were onboard for 4 days and we have seen the most beautiful bays and cays. We also visited Jacks Island (petite tabac) and the turtle sanctuary. All and all we had a lovely time and recommend this charter to everyone. I have never sailed open waters before and so i was a bit scared. This was not needed, Alston is a great sailor!

“Sail away on a Pristine 42' Sloop”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We spent a relaxing day with Captan Victor through Footloose Yacht Charters on his lovely 42' sloop which he keeps in pristine condition. Victor's passion for sailing is obvious by the big smile he has the entire time you are on the water with him. He is very competent and capable as well as knowledgable about the island. His first mate is busy and agile and works well managing the sail with the captan. If you are so inclined Victor will let you steer the boat under his watchful eye.
Around lunchtime he nestled the boat into a quiet and picturesque area known as Flamingo bay. We swam as he assembled and set up a tasty lunch of local cuisine his wife had prepared for us in advance. Their were plenty of beverages offered throughout the sail.
He was very insistent that we dine privately as he and his assistant ate their lunch below.
The sail was a full day, very reasonably priced and extremely professional unlike some other services we contracted on the island. Victor is Grenadian but spent many years in the States. He knows what makes visitors on his boat comfortable and relaxed.I would highly recommend Victor for a delightful sail.
