“A Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2009

We stumbled upon this lovely place and simply couldn't leave! We had originally planned on three days and ended up staying for nine. We literally had to tear ourselves away. Sharon and Lennie (the owners) were such wonderful hosts I think I just have to go back. Everything was so laid back and my cousin and I felt totally at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean and quiet. The beds are really lovely and comfortable!

The garden was a great place to sit and have a drink while watching the sunset. We also had a wonderful dinner, prepared for us by Sharon's cook, in Lennie's gorgeous garden. The other guests were so friendly - always ready for a chat and ready to share stories of their travel around the island.

The beach is right there! Away from the multitudes that arrived at Grand Anse from their cruise ships but close enough to walk to the restaurant down the beach near the spice market. Great food and ambiance sitting at a table on the beach and the lobster pancakes are very good.

Getting around the island is a breeze. The local buses are fast and cheap - $2.50 EC to get into St George and $5.00 EC to get to Grand Etang. No need to run for the bus they'll wait for you and back up, or down the hill a bit, if they see you coming!

If you want a special golf lesson, look for Sam Francis - you will probably find him next door at Jenny's place. Fantastic guy and a great lesson for only $50 US. A bargain I think!
The best part about Grenada is the people - so kind, generous and honest. You will love the place as much as we did.

This hotel right on Grand Anse beach was recommended to us and we loved our stay. When you say the hotel is on the beach I mean this place is on the beach, 10 feet away from the wonderful gardens. Our room was perfect and the hotel has a variety of rooms with self-catering facilities. The Grand Anse beach is 2 miles long and is featured in the travel book "1000 Places to See Before You Die". You can have your meals at the hotel or enjoy a number of beach resturants. We took the local bus into St. George's and enjoyed the sights and sounds of a busy sea port. The owners Sharon and Lennie are wonderful people and are most welcoming. Lennie took us on a tour of part of the island and we saw the exclusive residential area of the island as well as the picturesque campus on St. George's University. You can also rent cars at the hotel. We will return the "Spice Island" and most definitely stay at this hotel.

More a B&B than a hotel; friendly, comfortable, relaxed and could not be closer to the beach. Step out of the garden to the water's edge and then you have the whole of Grand Anse beach to walk along.
The owners and staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast is served and other meals are available on request. The bar/ restaurant area has great views over the sea and the sunsets are spectacular.
The hotel is 100 yards from the main road and the buses to St George's. Shops are a short walk away, the easiest access is along the beach. A couple of beach restaurants are close by; for others you have to take the bus or a taxi or car rental is available on-site.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grenada Palace Hotel! We were very pleased with the quality of our room and the easy access to the beach. The hotel is perfectly situated for using the local public transportation to St. George. We think often of our trip to Grenada and hope to return one day. Special thanks to Jovari and his aunt for making us feel so welcome and befriending our son Christofer after we left. --Christina Kaspersson in Sweden

My family rented three rooms at the Palace over the Christmas holiday. We found the rooms to be comfortable and clean. The Palace operates like a Bed and Breakfast and the home cooked meals were great. We liked the food so much, most dinners were had at the Palace. The upstairs bar has a great view of the Caribbean and drinks are reasonable priced.

We found our hosts to be delightful and most honorable people. Lennie and Sharon Degale are wonderful hosts and Jovari, the the young man who is the Palace manager is a most talented and accommodating professional.

We became friends with many of the other guests as at the Palace and everyone had a great time-not an unhappy face to be found.

We plan on returning to Grenada for XMAS 2008 and don't need to shop for places to stay as our list begins and ends with the Palace.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Anse beach palace hotel for 2 weeks in December and it turned out to be far better than we had ever expected! Contrary to previous reviews, we found the owners and staff to be nothing but completely honest, helpful and welcomming. Far from a typical hotel atmosphere, we became part of the Beach Palace family for the 2 weeks. An evening drink at the spectacular balacony bar usually included a relaxed chat with the owners, learning more about the local area, history, and where to eat etc. Food was provided on request in the evenings, and we dined here 2 or 3 times during our stay. Each time, every meal had a home cooked freshness about it and we left more than satisfied. The location of this hotel is perfect also. It is secluded in a quiet part of the beach, without being isolated from all of the action. Staff were more than happy to help us book trips and recommend activities and were eager to check up with us afterwards to ensure that their recommendations were sound. I was sorry to leave the Grand Anse Beach Palace Hotel, and should we find ourselves lucky enough to be back in Grenada in the future, we wont be wasting time researching places to stay, we will definitely be rolling our suitcases up to the Beach Palace again. If any of my friends were travelling to Grenada, I would insist they stay here.

My wife and I are just back from a lovely two weeks vacation at the Grand Anse Beach Palace hotel. Hospitality and kindness at it's best from Management and staff; they went the extra mile to ensure that we were very happy. My wife and I were pampered by the staff; they were always pleasant and did their work with professionalism. The hotel have self contained suites but we chose a lovely standard room and had delicious meals at the hotel's Ocean Front Terrace restaurant and some times we took a walk along the Grand Anse Beach to some other restaurants. The hotel has a superb location, two steps from our room and we were on the beach and some steps away from public transportation. The Grand Anse Beach is a beautiful and quiet hotel. The people on the island are very friendly. My wife and I will be returning at the hotel early in the next year. We already miss the hotel
