Loved the paintings along the inside of the tunnel ... A nice slice of history. Would love to know why the left side of the tunnel heading south has the inscription 'Women Only' in the stone!!

“Its a tunnel, what can I say?”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Can't really write a lot about a tunnel. Its very old, very tiny and feels like something from Victorian London than Grenada. We went through it in a car, Friday afternoon. A quick tip. Friday afternoon is mental in St Georges, especially by the bus garage. It's a lot of fun though!

“It's a tunnel for goodness sake”

not an attraction. You have two choices if you want to get by the hill that separates the spice market from the Carenage. Walk through the tunnel or walk around and over it. That's about it.

“It's just a tunnel”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Why is this here
Hardly a tourist site tho it saves a hill climb-
Be careful walking through - it is pretty tight

“A bit of Thrill”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The tunnel connects the downtown area of St. George's with the Carenage, saving one a steep climb up and over the hill. Pedestrians, bicycles, cars, buses and taxis all "share" the tunnel, making for a bit of an adrenalin rush as you walk through-it is very narrow, so you can almost feel the larger vehicle brush your arm as they whip past! The tunnel is also somewhat in need of repair, but work is in limbo as the powers that be try to figure out how to do so without causing the destruction of the historic church that rests atop it..
