Yes you will get some hassling by the sellers but a great place to get local fruit and trinkets, must see in St. George's. Good place to haggle for souvenirs.

It is quite a hike up hill to the to the fort. The view makes the effort worth it. Make sure that you take plenty of water to drink as there is nowhere to get a drink up there. We just sat under a tree next to the fort and reveled in the magnificent view. It is well worth the work.

The history of the fort..... the cannons on display.... the VIEWs out to sea, in to the port, looking at the town hillside and beautiful colorful buildings, churches and homes... and the bays....

Even if you are not conversant with all the details of Grenada's recent history, you will find this tour fascinating. Often, when you tour a site, things happened so far the in the past, they do not seem "real". Not so with Fort George. The events that helped Grenada develop the strong, vibrant economy it enjoys today happened only 30 years ago, a mere blink in historic terms. The gunshot holes in the wall where the rebels were executed tell a story any visitor should hear.
