“Beautiful stroll thru town.”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Disliked nothing, a great place to spend the day just wandering thru the beautiful, historic street while watching the sail boats and yachts in the bay ...

“Picturesque working port”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

The walk along Wharf Road has some well-preserved colonial buildings and lots of little shops. It is a working port so you will see Grenadians going about their daily lives. People are friendly and will stop to chat with you and show you how to find your way about. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours walking around the Carenage, up to Fort George and back. There quite a few waterfront restaurants & cafes where you can get a bite or refreshment. We used the local bus service to go from The Grenadian to St Georges - cost was $4USD or S10EC per person. A must see, if only briefly.

“Picturesque Waterfront Area”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

This was our second stop in Grenada on a cruise. The first time we took an island tour and didn't have a chance to see the area close to the pier. So this time we didn't schedule excursions and set out on foot to see the Carenage area and do a little shopping. You do have to walk through a short tunnel to get to this area. It's fine if you stay against the wall, but for some it might be a bit scary as vehicles are cruising by you at normal speeds as you walk through. The waterfront is pretty, but since I live along the coast of my state, I am used to similar scenes....but not with the nice 80 degree temps I have to say! If waterfront scenery is not something you are used to, then I think you would really enjoy taking the time to walk along here. We stopped at Dot's for shopping, but didn't go into any restaurants.

“Beautiful place”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

The Carenage is a lovely place to savour the atmosphere of St.George, there are many bars and a few shops, we found a very nice german restaurant where you went upstairs and could have a balcony table and watch the world go by, whilst eating very nice snacks.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

I think this makes the prettiest pictures of St. George, absolutely stunning! You need to see is from all points of view - walking, from a boat in the harbour and from high up in the hills
