Returned to the Rhodes restaurant at the Calabash on our recent visit to Grenada. We were very unimpressed by the service - the courtesy car failed to turn up until we had made two phone calls to chase, it took them 30 minutes to serve four glasses of champagne, we were not offered menus until we asked, we had to ask to place our orders - in all it took nearly an hour from our (late) arrival to being seated at our table. There seemed to be too few waiting staff for the number of tables and they were run off their feet. We did not enjoy being served by a waiter who had beads of sweat rolling off his forehead!
Food was fine. decent seafood and steak off the Rhodes menu but some items on the small daily specials menu were not available - why have that menu if they are not going to be able to supply it on request?
Finally, staff at a restaurant of this claimed standing should not vanish with a client's credit card for twenty minutes when the bill is being settled. They should bring a portable credit card machine to the table.
