“Eat at Patrick's in paradise”
Reviewed February 6, 2010

The only thing that is a bit odd at Patrick's is that you don't know what you will get until you get there. The local cuisine is tasty though not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It is one after another serving of brown or green food. If you can get beyond that, the food is very good and well prepared though you may not know exactly what you are eating!

“A taste of everything Traditional”
Reviewed January 8, 2010

Well you get about 20 small dishes to try a great taster menu and more than emough to eat. All appears home cooked and all is based on traditional Grenadian Fayre. A well worth while experience. We were the only diners there when we went so would have been better for atomosphere if there had been a few in but we were right at the start of the season. You need to book before you go.

“Loved it”
Reviewed July 14, 2009

We went to Patrick's in December 2008 after hearing about it as a 'must go' place. There's always that reservation in those circumstances that your expectations might be raised too high and that you'll be disappointed. The look of the restaurant wasn't a surprise, as we'd driven past it many times. Just a little roadside place with peeling paint. As we parked the car, an American lady and her teenaged son were just leaving and we naturally asked them how they had fouind it. i think the lady sad it was the best meal she'd had on the island and the boy thought it was the best meal he had, ever! We had a table on the balcony and a rum punch. The food came in little tasters and was absolutely delicious. The goat curry was far more than being the only palatable dish, it was the nectar of the Gods. Everything else was lovely, my only problem being remembering what everything was, even 5 minutes after being served. Patrick was absolutely charming. He's not someone who needs or wants to grovel or kowtow to anyone, or to put up with rudeness from others. He is very human, friendly, a terrific host and a wonderful chef. I am just looking forward to gettng back to Grenada and eating his food again, this time maybe with a bunch of post its to remind me what all the dishes are.

“Sublimely awful”
Reviewed June 26, 2009

Let me start this review by saying that I am not a fussy eater. If food is cooked to an ok standard, then I will eat it without complaint! However, the food here was truly revolting in my opinion. There is lots of food, brought to you in small portions (tapas style) so for big eaters, that aspect is ideal. But if you are unable to eat any of these small portions, then it is like torture to watch them keep on coming out! I did try each dish (there are probably around 30 in total), and I only found one edible - the curried goat.
On top of this, the staff were pretty appalling. The owner Patrick was very rude to my husband because he inadvertantly put his glass down on the table without the coaster. I found this quite unnecessary as a polite request would have sufficed.
This place is an experience as some of the other reviews have said, but it is not am experience that I would personally want to repeat.
