Excellent selection of local dishes well cooked. What a range of flavours and texture! A great atmosphere with a live local band as well.

I was one of the 9 with Sandra L. at Patricks in October. Her review is true and appropriate. We did have dinner. We paid our bill - which was a bit of a fiasco. When we asked what was being served, we only sometimes got an answer. I also will not visit here again. I am disappointed that the management felt this was bogus; it was not. Perhaps they will remember the staff screaming and flying out of the kitchen because they saw something on the wall that scared them.

Thank you for your response.
Sorry to say, I do remember that particular rude group of customers, and their lack of respect for the waitstaff. And concerning the bill.... 20 different dishes each for a party of 9 persons at $23 USD per person is a 'fiasco'? No need to revisit. With an attitude like that, Ma'am, we'll consider your decision a favor to us.

Most of the locals recommended this place but I found it odd that most locals didn't eat here either. My husband and I called to make reservations. There is only one menu - the drink menu. How come the beer is cheaper than the juice? Anyhow, it is tapas style. We received 18 different sample dishes starting from soup, then a variety of salads, then the entrees, and dessert. All that for 60EC per person. Cash only. We loved the Callalou soup, the Ginger Chicken, Fried Plantain, Crab puff, Banana salad, and Fish with spice sauce. It is a laid back, family owned environment. So please don't expect them to rush you out the door. They like your company and will be slow at times. Our meal was served in a span of 90 minutes.

Thanks for your response.
It looks as if locals don't eat at Patrick's, because the original owner, Patrick Levine, was quite a character and for what ever reason didn't like locals. We are trying to undo that damage, and get plenty of locals for our take-out lunches, but honestly, our meals are Grenadian and thus appear to be 'regular food' (aka, nothing fancy) to Grenadians. And the beer being cheaper than the juice is because of the size...its a tall glass of juice :) Thanks again.

Patrick's is a gem in the otherwise unvarying menus provided by most restaurants. Tapas style, some 15 different dishes based on local raw materials and local cooking tastes appear over an hour is a somewhat random way. Some delicious, some new tastes and one or two very different. Service was smooth and friendly.
No, it is not fine dining but yes it is a genuine experience of Grenada life and cooking.
A must on every tourists 'to do' list.

If you are open to trying new things and are looking for different dining experience, go to Patrick's. It isn't fine dining in the normal sense of the term. It is honest home cooked food. In my opinion, the food is very good and you will eat dishes that you typically would never find in any of the resort restaurants. You get a lot of food. It is a set menu of about 15-17 tapas sized plates. You get callilou soup to start, then various types of salads, then various mains. This place is a nice break from the fish of the day that you will have ten times over at your resort. Family operated. Our waiter was the chefs son. Funny guy with a dry sense of humour. We spoke to the chef about the restaurant and her food. It was a great experience. Fully recommend it if you are open to eating different foods that you don't get to choose.
