“Recent Visit to Patricks”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

I was one of the 9 with Sandra L. at Patricks in October. Her review is true and appropriate. We did have dinner. We paid our bill - which was a bit of a fiasco. When we asked what was being served, we only sometimes got an answer. I also will not visit here again. I am disappointed that the management felt this was bogus; it was not. Perhaps they will remember the staff screaming and flying out of the kitchen because they saw something on the wall that scared them.

Thank you for your response.
Sorry to say, I do remember that particular rude group of customers, and their lack of respect for the waitstaff. And concerning the bill.... 20 different dishes each for a party of 9 persons at $23 USD per person is a 'fiasco'? No need to revisit. With an attitude like that, Ma'am, we'll consider your decision a favor to us.

“Taste of Grenada”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Most of the locals recommended this place but I found it odd that most locals didn't eat here either. My husband and I called to make reservations. There is only one menu - the drink menu. How come the beer is cheaper than the juice? Anyhow, it is tapas style. We received 18 different sample dishes starting from soup, then a variety of salads, then the entrees, and dessert. All that for 60EC per person. Cash only. We loved the Callalou soup, the Ginger Chicken, Fried Plantain, Crab puff, Banana salad, and Fish with spice sauce. It is a laid back, family owned environment. So please don't expect them to rush you out the door. They like your company and will be slow at times. Our meal was served in a span of 90 minutes.

Thanks for your response.
It looks as if locals don't eat at Patrick's, because the original owner, Patrick Levine, was quite a character and for what ever reason didn't like locals. We are trying to undo that damage, and get plenty of locals for our take-out lunches, but honestly, our meals are Grenadian and thus appear to be 'regular food' (aka, nothing fancy) to Grenadians. And the beer being cheaper than the juice is because of the size...its a tall glass of juice :) Thanks again.

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Patrick's is a gem in the otherwise unvarying menus provided by most restaurants. Tapas style, some 15 different dishes based on local raw materials and local cooking tastes appear over an hour is a somewhat random way. Some delicious, some new tastes and one or two very different. Service was smooth and friendly.
No, it is not fine dining but yes it is a genuine experience of Grenada life and cooking.
A must on every tourists 'to do' list.

“If you are looking for something different, go to Patrick's”
Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

If you are open to trying new things and are looking for different dining experience, go to Patrick's. It isn't fine dining in the normal sense of the term. It is honest home cooked food. In my opinion, the food is very good and you will eat dishes that you typically would never find in any of the resort restaurants. You get a lot of food. It is a set menu of about 15-17 tapas sized plates. You get callilou soup to start, then various types of salads, then various mains. This place is a nice break from the fish of the day that you will have ten times over at your resort. Family operated. Our waiter was the chefs son. Funny guy with a dry sense of humour. We spoke to the chef about the restaurant and her food. It was a great experience. Fully recommend it if you are open to eating different foods that you don't get to choose.

“Great Food, Bad Service”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

This place appears to be a family owned and operated restaurant. From what I gathered, the mother is the chef. The daughter and son/nephew are the wait staff. They only take reservations, and the price includes drink and desert. If you want to get a little taste of Grenada, you will love this place. You get about 8 or so dishes to pass/share. The food was pretty good, but the service was a little slow, but very nice.

Hello. I'm sorry you had an unfavorable experience at PATRICK'S, but I find your review to be, for lack of a better word, misleading. I am not sure what '8 dish' meal you are referring to, since for the past 17 years PATRICK'S has always advertised 15 to 20 seasonal dishes, and unless the customer requests something other than that, we stick to our 15-20 tapas-style menu, for the mere purpose of avoiding this kind of situation.
As to waitstaff, since I don't know what time of the day you visited the restaurant, there are usually 2 older women and one young man waiting tables. When we are really busy the daughter you referred to will step in and assist.
We have a total of 5 staff members and we serve 15 to 20 dishes.
