“Nothing special - may want to pass”

Played here in December 2013. The good: the greens and tees are generally in good shot. The grass in the fairways - where there is grass - is good. Because I was staying at a nearby resort and brought my clubs, I just paid cart fee. It also includes water, soda, and a sandwich at the turn. The staff seemed friendly enough.

The bad: Let me say this - if you're not getting free greens fees, don't come here. There's nothing special about the course layout and no great views. Unlike a lot of resort courses, there's no caddy included (or at all). The fairways are...gnarly. A lot of dead patches. Even getting free greens fees, this course may be a pass.

Played the course several years ago and t was much better. Staff is nice and pace of play in the am is good but the course fairways are a mess. Have vouchers for play so only paying cart fees but that is all that it is worth. Greens and tee boxes in good shape but fairways are a mess. In-land course so views are limited. Paid 5 times more to play at casa de campo yesterday and worth the money. From the north so just glad to get out so will play again as associated with hotel. Also now charge for chips and candy on course. Sandwich and water and soda free.

This is a long course, with no challenges. It is not picturesque and not well maintained. We opted to try it as it was close to our resort.

I am an avid golfer and this was disappointing

Average course, Nick Price design. Rental clubs were in poor shape, worn grips, miss matched flexes. Greens were slow and inconsistent, never could figure them out (6.9 handicap). Took 9 holes to figure out the speed of the greens. Golf was free with the package but had to pay $45.00 for the cart and $40.00 for rental clubs. A little steep for crappy clubs and an average course.

Staff was excellent. Course was immaculate. I played it twice, loved it more the second time. The course is very deceiving (it is wide open, but looks are deceiving). The greens are tricky. I recommend you give this course a shot. My friend and I had a blast, but I would also recommend going early. Remember you are in a tropical environment and it gets hot fast!!! The course does have bottled water readily available.
