“Great resort for the price!”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

The friendliness of the staff was great! The resort had a lot of amenities and the food was great depending on where you ate. I only spent $860 for 6 days stay and flight from North Carolina. Excellent value and overall experience for the price!

We went to Dreams Punta Cana from Oct 29th - Nov2/13 We travel approximately 2 times a year to tropical places and found Dreams Punta Cana a very nice resort. The staff at the hotel are fantastic. The grounds are very beautiful and well kept. Would recommend this hotel as a great destination. Bartenders Francisco and Demetrio are the best!!! Very friendly and make dynamite Chocolate Martini's !!! Cheers :)

I went here with my friend for her birthday and it was absolutely beautiful! The beds were very comfortable and I slept so good here! Security was always trolling through the area which made it feel very safe. Everyone was so nice and accommodating.. But Lenny, the bartender from the preferred club was so kind and amazing that it made the whole trip!

I booked a 5 night trip to this resort for my Husbands birthday. We stayed in room 7117 and did the preferred club. The preferred club is worth the extra money for the amenities you receive. Preferred rooms are located in building 1, 6 and 7. I would suggest you ask for 1 or 6 and do not take a ground floor. They do have a very musty smell to them. They were kept very clean. The first 24 hours we did not have any hot water in our building due to a break in a pipe. It was corrected and not an issue again. We stayed from 11/2 through 11/7 and did not know that it was a Holiday on Monday 11/4 so the resort was packed with locals taking advantage of the 3 day weekend. I would have not picked these dates had we known, it was way to busy. The choice of restaurants on the resort is very nice. The food is average. The pool is very clean and there plenty of seating. The beach is very nice also with lots of lounge chairs. We did kayak and had a good time. The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. Our last day we had a problem with the key letting us back into out room and had to call maintenance. The entire keycard on the door had gone bad ( not just the key) so we had to crawl in and out of our patio to come and go. It was a nice place and had we not had the few issues we did it would have made for an excellent vacation. I will try another all inclusive again but not sure if I would return to this one.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 7117 and did the preferred club. The preferred club is worth the extra money for...

My wife and I just got back from Dreams Punta Cana, where we got married. We couldn't be happier with our decision. Everyone there is amazing, especially James (entertainment), Yesica (wedding co-ordinator), Juan Pablo and Edwin (bartenders), Daniel (served at the wedding), and Teo (Hibachi cook). I would recommend this as a great destination wedding location, or even for a honeymoon or vacation. They are great with kids as well, as my son and nephew had a great time. I look forward to going back there for our 1 year anniversary! The room was just OK, but everything else (except the burgers, avoid them) was great. The views, the bars, the food, was great. They upgraded pretty much every part of our trip, giving us a honeymoon suite, preferred club access, a free couples massage AND a romantic dinner on the beach. A large group of us took a snorkeling trip from the resort and they were very easy to work with (unfortunately a few got sick and the trip was cut short). My wife and I went back and forth on whether a destination was the best choice but now, we are 100% sure we made the right call.

My wife and I have been to several all inclusive resorts, but this was the first time taking our three young children (3, 5, 7 yrs). The room was nothing to write home to mom about, but the service and the resort overall were very good. The family deluxe room worked out great. It is simply just adjoining rooms. Considering we brought 5 people the price was reasonable. The staff at the kids club (Explorer's Club) were "excellente". You can sign your kids in at pretty much any time and come get them at pretty much any time. They have good safe policies in place. We felt comfortable with the kids club, though our kids did not use it quite as much as some of the other kids there. They have some neat activities such as bungee trampoline.

The beach and ocean are nice. We enjoyed a nice mix of beach and pool time. The drinks were well-made and the bar staff is very friendly. I never felt pressured to tip, but often did.

Overall, we were pleased with the food. The options were not spectacular, but overall I can't complain. The World Café is the buffet and we spent a little too much time there simply because we had kids and they had more choices naturally. However, we would have spent more time at the other restaurants had we not been with children, though the kids are perfectly welcome at most of the restaurants. There may be one or two that are 18 and over only.

Overall, this resort was a good compromise between a kid-oriented place and an adults-only resort. It worked for us and glad we made the trip.

What an amazing trip. We had booked 9 nights with Dream Punta Cana and the resort did not disappoint. They really emphasize making you feel like you are home, and that is exactly what they did. I couldn't have imagined a better trip, and it was all thanks to the Dreams staff.

At some point you are bound to run into the entertainment crew. This team was just phenomenal, they spend all day (literally... 8am to 1am) setting up events, like water polo, volleyball, beach soccer, dance parties, bar-tending competitions, zumba, Spanish lessons, dance lessons, and more! Their job seems to be to make sure you are having a great time on your vacation. At night they are in the plaza teach guests to dance while live music is in the background, and you will even find them later at the disco! The people on this team are genuinely friendly and love what they do, they really do work to make you happy. If you head down there track down James, he gives great dance lessons (he finally was able to teach me how to dance without looking like a fool!). James and Janelley on the team really went out of their way to make our trip memorable and exciting. We were very fortunate to meet such wonderful people. The two of them took time each day to visit with us, get us involved in events, and really made us feel like part of their team.

We were able to have a couple trips to the spa, one thanks to the entertainment team getting us involved in events so we could win Dreams money and win a spa massage at the Dreams auction. If you can, go to the spa. Before your treatment you get an hour in the pools area, there are four specialty showers, two saunas, a steam room, a large whirlpool with hydro jets and a ice cold plunge pool. All in a calm and tranquil setting. It was gorgeous.

Go to the live shows every night. They are worth it. One night they had a circus act with trapeze artists and all, beach party with fire dancers, dinner theater, a western show, and of course a tropical show. Check the entertainment brochure they slip in your door every day.

The resort itself is about an hour from the airport, bit of a drive but you get to see a bunch of local areas and culture. I really enjoyed the drive, often you don't get to see anything on an all inclusive, so to me this was wonderful.

Food was average, somethings were really good, some so-so, I am just a picky eater, but never went hungry. The restaurants are great how you do not need to make a reservation. Buffet has fantastic desserts and the staff there are wonderful, they really cater to your needs. Japanese restaurant was fantastic!

The rooms were average for decor, we only spent time sleeping and showering... it wasn't a big deal to us what they looked like. Personally, I liked the room, it was clean, had a/c, had a safe and a mini bar, it was perfect. People next to us complained because they saw ants in there room... It's ants, get over it. I never saw bugs once in our room or even in the hallways. Just a few lizards outside (just geckos), they were cute and harmless. Again, you are staying on a tropical island, if you don't see a bug, I think something would be wrong!

Resort itself is a perfect size, we were staying in the middle block so we were halfway from everything, and it was no more than a 5 minute walk to the front or to the beach. I have stayed at a resort three times the size and it was ridiculous, this place was perfect.

Pools were always super clean, and you can swim from pretty much one end of the resort to the other. Beach was always clean as well. At this time of year both were uncrowded.

Biggest complaint I have I read in these reviews is the vouchers. Upon checking in you will be given a set of coupons that you need to exchange, and while doing so they try to sell you on a tour to a resort up the road, and give you the whole "you'll get a free massage if you go" Up to you whether you want to sit through a 90 minute time share presentation. This situation isn't much different than a lot other resorts, or even Vegas. If you aren't prepared for things like this maybe you aren't ready to travel yet. Just use your common sense. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

The only bad part of our trip was that my husband lost his wedding ring there! Concierge and security tried to find it, but no luck!

I truly cannot wait to come back to this resort and will for sure be checking out other AM Resorts after the service we received here!

Room Tip: Swim up suites are not private, you have a patio that enters onto a grassy area with two lounge chai...
