just stayed at the breathless resort the of april 20-25 the place is beautiful and the staff was very helpful in taking care of our needs one thing they need to improve is the quality of the food at resort it boats about different resturants but the menu at the returants was very limited other than that the place was beautiful and i would like to thank my host at the exhale club emmanncie he was very helpful.

I truly cannot begin to understand these negative reviews! We stayed from 4/24-4/29. It was just a quick vacation, however, it was amazing. Next time we will stay for at least 10 days!!! I'm going to start from the beginning cause I feel like I have a lot of ground to cover.
First starters...our room. We got a 3rd floor room with a tropical view. Our room was beautifully decorated and we had wonderful natural lighting. We had a corner room so privacy was really never an issue. It was gorgeous to look at the stars as it was very dark at night at our location. Maid service was NEVER an issue. Room was cleaned before 1 everyday. Yes we had a view of the "tin roof village" and heard the rooster crowing at very odd times of the day, but it wasn't something that upset us. We are not naive to the realities of the severe poverty in the DR and it was very humbling to see the juxtaposition of luxury that we were so fortunate to experience and the unfortunate reality of a life most of us will never ever experience. It brought a perspective that will stick with me forever!!!
Food...very inconsistent. Spoon was pretty consistent. It was a buffet so many many choices for breakfast and lunch. Service was great there. Culinaria was good! Santos our server was MAGNIFICO!! Silk City was good. Wish our chef had been more entertaining but didn't really matter as the people at our table were complete duds! The Strip Grill was honestly awful!!! Service was awful, and the food was pretty much inedible!
Bars/Drinks... Excellent! Never really had a bad drink. Tipping does help to get your drinks faster. A few exceptional beach servers stick out to us. Charlys and Aqualino were a step above and beyond. There was a point they brought us drinks without needing to ask. Will miss them.
Eteam... Great, great,great!!! Diamanté and New York were so much fun! Always recognized us and made us feel like we were family. Shows were fun and they always had smiles on their faces.
Complaints...mini fridge stocking was lacking. Tipped well and had to ask for our fridge to be stocked almost daily. Front desk service was rude and some of the worst cust. service. If we had a complaint (which was rare) they generally hung up on us. Be persistent!
All in all, it was so magically beautiful. Beach might be one of the most breathtaking I've ever seen. The people will stick with me forever. Would I go back? Tomorrow if I could!!!!

My husband and I visited the Breathless resort for March 30th through April 6th. This was our first visit the Punta Cana, so we weren't sure what to expect. Check in was smooth, but slow as several couples were checking in at the same time. We were assigned a swim out room, which was very nice. The room itself was nice, but quite low lit, especially in the bathroom. We left a note for the maid about the lighted mirror that didn't work, but nothing was done. We lived with it until we received a call from the concierge, checking on our visit, where I mentioned it. It was fixed that very same day. If you have a problem, go to the concierge!

The swim out was nice but it faced the outside of the resort, so no refreshments are available. I also mentioned this to the concierge, but don't know if something will ever be done.

The resort is probably one of the cleanest resorts we have been to. People are always working hard cleaning. No dirty glasses or plates laying around. We appreciated that.

The service around the pool and the main bar was good. In the restaurants, the service was a little more spotty. At the Lebanese, the waiter didn't appear to be familiar with menu and was no help. The Italian restaurant was very loud and the waiter seemed to ignore us. We never got a refill on our wine, and no butter came with the bread. The service in the French was wonderful, and the waiter was very attentive. The Latin restaurant, Sofrito, was also very good.

Food was ok. Our favorite was the Latin Sofrito and we would have gone back, but it was closed the next 2 nights. Seafood was usually good, steaks are thin and tough, but usually had a good flavor. Buffets were like all buffets, but one warning. We got some cervasas for lunch and went to get some food. When we came back, our table was cleared. Take something to leave on the table or take turns leaving. They are very serious about clearing the tables!

All in all, we had a good visit. The staff, for the most part are friendly, work hard, and try their best. But it is new resort but they they are still learning. It could probably will become a very nice adults only resort.

upon check in we encountered the hard sale for the Xhale club upgrade..the ladies at the check in desk not so friendly. We waited for room 30 min and told where we could eat. Waited for our bags 1 hour after we arrived in room. Rooms were nice we faced the spa and it was semi-quite. The jacuzzi was a nice touch ..beds comfortable..showers good...overall the room was clean.No place to put things that didnt require hanging so we basically lived out of our suitcases for a week. Housekeeping was good-however they didnt replace handtowels or washclothes.. its like whatever they had on the cart you got.. if they didnt have it you didnt get it. I liked the idea of no reservations for the restaurants.. however that lead to 2 hour waits at peak times the restaurant portions were tiny the food was meh...about what you would expect at an allinclusive. The drinks we found to be lacking of alcohol or very very watered down. Even the beer and wine, we even brought our bottle of rum to add to the drinks and still tasted like melted icees..The pools and ocean were beautiful-get there early to get a spot.. people get spots and dont return all day ..they dont pick up the towels til later so you never know if it was someones spot or they were done and the towels were just left behind..you can get as many towels as you need that where the confusion arrises with is this spot taken?One day we arrived back to our lived in room to find 2 suitcases left for us.. obviously whoever was delivering bags it didnt notice that they must have delivered to the wrong already occupied room... We tipped for everything .. Charlie the beach waiter was good and also a gentleman in the Italian restaurant noticed that we got our entree before our salads..Breathless overall is a beautiful resort with tons of potential.. However they are not there yet with service or anticipating customers needs..the food meh and the drinks are lacking in everyway...the people for the most part are nice and friendly with "magnifico" redundant.. nothing we encountered here was "magnifico" We not return ...

Traveled to Breathless Apr 19-24, the only other all inclusive we can compare it to is Valentine in Cancun. Traveled with my wife only, got to the resort around 5PM and was taken to the check in desk, no drink or towels offered. Check in went pretty quick, taken to our room and someone carried our bags for us.
Rooms: We stayed in room 3114, room itself was nice and clean, hated to put the key in a socket when you walked in the room to turn everything on, and good luck getting two keys. No table in the room and seemed rather dark. Housekeeping was hit or miss seemed like we had to call every time we wanted something. The free calls to US were nice and Wi-Fi seemed to work good.
The beach was the hit for us it was just great water was awesome, lots of fish to see when snorkeling. Not hard to find a place on the beach in the morning.
Pools were also great, the main pool was nice then you had the party pool which was more fun than I thought it was going to be.
Food was kind of hit or miss I think over all it was better than the valentine but overall not much taste. As far as the bars go we were really disappointed. A lot of the bars didn’t even have bar stools the ones by the beach or pool bars. I thought the sports bar was a joke two small TV’s on the wall just didn’t feel like a sports bar. The one we liked the most and didn’t go till the last night was the cigar bar the drinks were better there the service was better, just wish we would have found it sooner. As far as the drinks were made, you really had to tell them to put alcohol in them if not they only put a splash.
Over all we had a good time but do to the lack in the level of service and the disorganization there I don't think I could recommend this resort at this time. Maybe after a year or two things will be better but not right now.

Generally, the resort was great. We found the food wonderful - just dont fight the buffet! Where we were disappointed was at the restaraunts, where our American expectations usually didnt match the interpretation. Fresh fish, so many options of fruits, veges, meats and treats. Rooms well appointed, and if it wasnt right, it was quickly made right . Housekeeping was great.
Which is all hats off to the staff, who were simply delightful. They work So Hard. The E team members were tremendous and did a great job keeping the people entertained...special shoutout to ERGIE on E TEAM...really terrific. There are so many folks that made our trip memorable. We had a blast and enjoyed the people of the Dominican. Breathless management must be doing something right because the employees look happy- and that says a lot.

Room Tip: We were poolside- never had a problem with noise

I booked an apple saver vacation not knowing which I would end up at. I had never been to Punta Cana before, but I have been to several AI resorts in different locations. All and all I enjoyed my stay at Breathless. There was always something to do, there was alot of activities that people participated in at the beach and the pool. The food seemed to be more on the healthy side in the cafeteria. The restaurants were a dissappointment for the most part except for the French one. The food and the service were lacking. Most of the mixed drinks I got were dissappointing, so I started sticking to beer and straight shots. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The beach was very nice as well. The only negatives I can remember from the stay was the apple representatives and the run around on finding out when to be in the lobby for the return trip. Otherwise it was a good vacation. We walked down to the Dreams next door and I liked Breathless alot more just because it seemed so much more active. You will walk alot at this resort, it is long from front to the beach.
