Had we based our trip on the reviews, we would not have gone to the luxurious resort. WOW is all I have to say about the resort. This was the first adults only resort my husband and I have gone to and will most likely continue to do so. However, in our experience with this, be prepared to see some intoxicated rude hotel guests. It is very new and people need to relax. I agree it took some time to get drinks from the beach bars. I don't believe this was a staffing issue. The bar closet to the beach is SMALL! The two bartenders were busting it trying to get the drinks out. It does not seem the guests were watching them make four or five "foofy" drinks per guest. It's not like the bartenders were taping beers. These bartenders were also making drinks for the servers that walked the beach, taking orders and bringing back drinks to guests. I actually told one very rude guest that if he was this upset about waiting a few extra minutes, I felt bad what level of stress he endured at home. The Japanese and Italian restaurants were FABULOUS! We did not get to try the French, due to the normally hour wait. We were OK with this, knowing the small restaurant did not take reservations and the resort was pretty full. The lunch and dinner buffets had a lot of options and the options were endless! There was no way you could try everything. Unlike the breakfast buffet, the food was always hot. They need to work on that, as it was the same problem every day, unless you waited at the omelet station or ate the pastry, fruit or yogurt options. It seems no expense was spared on the room, so luxurious. The room was serviced three times a day, if you so chose. The beaches were beautiful and so clean. No seaweed, glass, cigarette butts, etc., or trying to get you to buy junk. The biggest drawback was the language barrier. We speak little to no Spanish, but are OK with not always getting what we initially asked for. Again you rude people, there is an app for that if staff cannot understand what you need. If you are very needy traveler, maybe try this resort in a year or two. If you are adventuresome, go! PS- tip the staff. We saw the same staff working every day, from the time we got up until the time we went to bed, smiling or humming to themselves the entire time. Seriously, these people for pennies. Make their day. We scuba dive, so we did two dives on three separate days. We learned the Atlantic side is not the best, but did manage to see nurse sharks, eels, schools of fish and beautiful corals. Also did zip lining (AWESOME a must do if able), horseback riding, the coffee/chocolate/cigar factory tour, as well as a shopping excursion.
