I had read the early reviews which were troubling. However, the pool and beach are paradise. The staff is very Dominican, meaning extremely friendly and good hearted. Don't expect the most timely service as they are on island time. If you are willing to accept the people at the hotel for who they are, it will be a great place to vacation.

My kids love the pool and beach. Both are very shallow and warm. At most they are 4' deep. Beware, no life guards, so don't leave the kids alone.

The food is about as good as any other Westin. You'll do well by venturing to the village, which is a tourist oriented strip mall with decent restaurants. Back to the food at the hotel, expect a very Dominican flavor. This meaning that if you are expecting exactly the same as in the US, you will be disappointed. Conversely, if you are open to the country's style, it will be a treat.

Bottom line, the vacation is for those wanting to chill at the beach and pool, not requiring several activities and tours at all times.

The only con for all is that I am not optimistic on how it would be during high seasons.

Room Tip: Fourth floor if possible

Dear Illya M:

We are happy that you enjoyed the hotel and our Puntacana Village, especially our pool & beach area and our very hospitable Dominican staff.

In regards to the high season, thankfully the resort is so spread out that even at our highest periods of the year our guests never feel that there are crowds or that they are crowded, it is one of the things that people mention when they come in our high seasons.

Thank you for reviewing us and we hope to have you back soon.

Have a great day!

I stayed at the Westin Punta Cana for three days and the service was fantastic. The room and the hotel were extremely clean and modern. If you're looking for peace and quiet , this is the place to go. The complaint is there's not much to do there.

Dear Michael W:

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel.

We are glad that you found the service fantastic, liked the hotel and the fact that it is so clean.

You are right in the fact that we are a resort that is perfect for those looking for peace and quiet and we are also perfect for people that want some more activity such as: World Class golf courses, Six Senses Spa, kite surfing, paddling, new Tennis Center and natural activities such as our natural lagoons a variety of excursions, etc.

We hope to have you back soon.

Have a great day!

I stayed at the Westin for a business conference just recently, The service was very exceptional, the staff really bends over backwards to make sure your stay is a good as it can be, All the staff was awesome, Jorge Castillo Susana was exceptional and went beyond the call of duty, he introduced me to the staff so I became familiar with them on a first name basis, especially the chief. This is a quiter more upper class resort than the strip of all inclusives in Punta Cana. The only thing I didn't like was the everyday playing of music from sun up to sun down in the courtyard.

We had an amazing trip to Punta Cana.Six of us stayed in a private villa in the Resort. But spent many days at the beach club and a couple of lunches at the poolside bar and on the beach.Very Friendly and happy staff. The beaches were almost empty at this time of year.A stunning Resort.
