“Best gastronomic experience in Punta Cana.”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

For many reasons this is the best restaurant in the Punta Cana area. Best wine list, best service, modern and inventive dishes, complete menu, and you can ask the chef to do specials. Best dish the risotto and the capon consommé with foie gras cappelletti.

“Beautiful restaurant, excellent food and service, special occasion for most”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

Spent our 35th wedding anniversary at this beautiful restaurant. This is in a Relais & Chateau hotel so we expected top notch food, service, ambiance and the restaurant nailed them all. A 5 minute $3 taxi from the all-inclusive we were staying but a world apart (this is why though we stayed at all-inclusive we didn't choose that option).
Restaurant is relatively new and pricey so stayed minimally occupied all night - 4 tables full max.
Regardless, start at the bar - bartender is from Italy and lovin' his job. Offered us a special Moet (on ice) that was different and perfect for the Carib. Piano player played all night though typically there 2-4 people in the bar.
Offered an outside table overlooking one of the hotel pools. perfect though the inside restaurant was absolutely beautiful.
Waiter was American, he and local staff were excellent - always ready but not obtrusive.
Bring your $$$ but for a special occasion or you just want a fine meal in perfect surroundings this is it.
Started with delicious: Spanish ham, quail egg and truffle ($32) and Tuna Tartare and caviar ($38). Both extraordinary - I rarely write that word on Trip Advisor
Special Mention: They have an olive oil and salt 'Service'. Seriously, with the bread selection they wield out a cart with about 20 olive oils from around the world - the French was wonderful. On that cart is also a tray of about 8 different salts from around the world. I've eaten in some very high end restaurants in NYC and Europe but this pair blew us away
Mains: Lobster ($58) and Tuna ($38). Both very good
Dessert: a terrific souffle and home made ice cream
There is an excellent chef (European) and staff in the kitchen
Wines: can be very, very expensive but the waiter offered a nice Cava for under $70
Yup, lots of dough, worth it to us on this special occasion.

“A memorable experience”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

The focus of this restaurant is the quality, the attention to detail and the exquisit italian and mediterranean flavors and glamour of the dishes. Some of the subtle touches of the chef are not easy to recognize, but being a foodie I tend to pay attention to these details. A specific example: the spaghetti (cooked to perfection) with bottarga (hard to find in Italy, imagine in the caribean) with an elegant and creamy touch o burrata on the plate, it is the kind of dish foodies dream of at night. Another dish that was served perfectly and was a truly outstanding.experience was the Waygju rib-eye. I am a meat lover and not easily impressed, this dish was outstanding, cooked to perfection and lovely flavor. To go along with the food, the wine list is equally impressive. I had the opportunity to taste during the week I stayed at the Hotel great wines from France, Italy, Spain and the US in one single restaurant. Beside the greatest/top names of each of these wine regions available, there is an ample selection of top quality and reasonable priced wines to choose from. Desserts are creative and glamorous... Dine at the Mediterraneo, not to miss

“Absolutely divine!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I have dined here 3 times during our 1 week stay at the Eden Roc. The food is exquisite and is prepared by chef Gianluca Re Franschini is truly is a worldclass chef. Don't compare this to the restaurants at an all inclusive resort, rather compare it to the top restaurants in the world ( think le Bernardin or Jean Georges in NYC) .my favorite dishes were the fois gras appetizer and the baby lobster main course.I also felt the price was reasonable given the quality. You can have a main dish and dessert combo for $40 at dinner. Speaking of dessert , don't miss the baba au rhum. It's just perfect!

“Nice and fancy.”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Although a bit pricey, we enjoyed dining at Mediterraneo almost every night during our stay at Eden Roc. The food was excellent and the wine list was quite extensive. The menu was not very long but most dishes were exquisite, creative and fresh. In addition, Chef Gian-Luca was happy to accommodate most special requests. Their Risotto a la Milanese is a definite must as well as their filet of black Angus. Their French pastry Chef proposes daily home made ice-creams and decadent deserts.

We loved the setting, the decor and the relaxed ambiance, especially the nights when there was live music.

The service was a bit slow but the waiters strived to do their best. This was compensated by the fact that they remembered our particular tastes, were very polite, and always called us by our last names.
