Owner description: Scape Park at Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. The ocean, the beach, the cliffs, and the tropical forests combine together to make of us an exquisite natural asset. Cap Cana’s natural resources and extent makes it possible for Scape Park to offer all kinds of attractions for every taste. There is really no need to look for anything else outside Cap Cana.

Did a half day trip on the buggies through First Choice. Although we had a very brief safety talk at the beginning, whilst in all line waiting to start the tour, we could not get our seat belts to work. The staff were busy sending everyone off on their way, we found it very difficult attracting their attention to help us. When they eventually helped us, the other members of our party were a long way in front, so we had to quickly catch them up.

Despite a bad start, we enjoyed the trip. We stopped at the beach were the Atlantic meets the Caribbean sea, and were provided with bottle of water and had photos taken. Off again through the woodland and then on to another beach but didn't actually drive the buggies on the beach.

We purchased the zip lining and Hoya Azul nature walk.

The zip lining was slow, but the views were incredible, the guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. The last run was outstanding!

The lagoon was beautiful. Water was cool, very welcome after zip lining. The guide was again, very personable and knowledgeable.

Lunch between adventures was not the greatest and rushed, but did the trick.

Forgot to check out the pictures at the end so not sure how much they were. We did have our own camera so wasn't a huge deal. Although the photographer had a monkey that you had your picture taken with and he was adorable.

Make sure to check out the goats and iguanas.

We took part in multiple activities at scape park: Hoyo Azul, ziplining, and buggies.

The first day we did the buggies. The cost was 90 USD per person. We thought they were going to be dune buggies; however, they were more like utility-type four wheelers, that had the power reduced. We were in the middle of the pack (can only go in a sigle file line down the trail) and went about fifteen MPH max. We would slow down on multiple occasions and separate ourselves from the front just so we could blast through the trail - that was fun. About 30 minutes into the tour our guides buggy broke down so we had stop and wait for the mechanic at the back of the pack. The mechanics could not get it fixed so we pushed it off to the side of the road and continued on with the guide in the back of someone else's buggy. We then had to stop again so someone (an employee) could give their buggy to the guide. We got to the end, did a u-turn and continued on to a beach. The beach was ok, no one went swimming and I am not even sure you could go swimming...it was't really clear. One our way back the person in front of us broke down. It appeared they ran out of gas. The mechanic came over and blew into a tube (gas line) and started the buggy. About five minutes later it broke down again (they said it ran out of gas), so they pushed it off the side of the road and hopped in the back of ours - you are supposed to wait for the machnic but at this time the mechanic was working on the guides busted down buggy from before. The guide saw them in the back of our buggy and gave them the one he had been using. When we got back we were told we were going to Juanillo beach. It was not clear how we were going to get there or where the beach was (it was our first day). We got on a bus and everyone aboard said they were going to their hotel...but we wanted to go to the beach and driver could not confirm where we were going, so we asked to get off the bus. We went back to scape park and asked when we were going to the beach, the guide called the bus driver and we got back on the bus - still did not know if he understood us as he just called the bus back and neither confirmed or denied we were going to the beach. After we dropped everyone off at their resorts we were taken to the beach where we saw others from our tour who had been dropped off. Overall, I just did not think the tour was worth the price.

The ziplining was better. I had never been ziplining so I thought it was fun. All of the guides performed safety checks and balances to ensure everyone's safety. We started of white short not-so-high lines and worked our way up the side of the mountain. The last line was the longest and the best. I would recommend the ziplining to people who are not afraid of heights and are looking for some ziplining fun.

We did the full day at Scape Park and had an AMAZING time. We did the buggy ride first, we were a little early so had a drink and had a pet monkey come up to us and had photos taken with him - cute little chap, very tame... sat on my head and shoulders.
Then onto the buggying - bit bumpy, as to be expected but great fun. You go to Bavaro beach (think Pirates of the Caribean) and to an underground (ish) lake to swim. Cold but fun. Then back to base where we had a very simple lunch. Then it was off zip-lining - wow! I have done this before in the UK but go ape just does not compare. The views... one word STUNNING. The last zipwire is incredibly long and the few leading up to it vary in length. You actually walk up a huge cliff as you go along but don't really even notice the climb as you are zipping in between each climb so you do not get tired. Fantastic guide as well.

Highly recommend this day out if you want a bit of adventure, it is not cheap but I think it is well worth the money.

Thank you to Luis, Rafaella and the whole crew who made this experience exciting, educational and safe. They take all the safety worries away and you feel very at ease after your first zip. We had amazing weather, saw some of the hundreds of native orchids and peeked into the caves. We were zipping from platform to platform, on coral cliffs, as the entire island used to be underwater a million years ago. We even saw a hermit crab way up high on the trail walk from one platform to another level. Bring your small camera and wear a tank top so you can hang the camera from your shirt and take pictures as you go of the other folks in the group. We were given instructions to have a bathroom visit in a beautiful lodge greeting area, running water, soap etc and told to put our things, ( We had a small knapsack) into the lockers, that come with a key that you can easily zip into a shorts pocket. We did not bring enough cash to buy the disc of pictures their photographer took of us, but luckily had some of our own on the camera. $35.00 for the disc or $20.00 per picture. Would recommend this to anyone who can climb a suspended tethered ladder bridge, crawl on a plank covered in a felt mat between two sides of the mountain for about 10 feet and can haul your butt up a stone walkway using grab hooks. We are 51 and 58 and had no trouble. They keep your harness clipped in whenever there is any potential danger. All the guides and the group that work there were funny, full of smiles and jokes and spoke English very well. This is a super fun way to spend half a day. Worth every penny!
