Spent 8 wonderful days @ The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana. Resort offers all to keep you
entertained and satisfied. Grounds are extensive and well maintained with a variety of activities available for your participation. Resort is all-inclusive with a good number of restuarants to choose from. But the most impressive part of the trip was the professional staff that's there to serve your every need.

First there is the wait staff at the restaurants are more than professional, they welcome you like family. Hehwan Ramirez Mercedes, Anthony Sid, Arturo & Rafael to name a few always there for you, and are ready and willing to assist you. Well done fellows, I miss you guys.

My concierge my Leidy Guerrero. She took all of your needs and request personal, and approached them with the personality of an angel, until something goes wrong, then you see the tenacity of a drill sergeant. But in the end you are always satisfied with her results.

My maid was Gladys Jiminez. She not only took great care with daily preparation of my room, but totally surprised me one evening when I found the room's whirlpool filled with warmed water and dozens of roses inviting me to bathe and relax.

Finally, Elvis George & Adalgisa Morla were the best. Always cheerful, always pleasant and always there the brighten your day. Thanks family......

We stayed at the Reserve Paradisus Punta Cana from February 25 to March 4, 2014. Our room (2424) was a one bedroom Master Suite with Pool View on the second floor. The room was very beautiful, spacious and very well stocked with never a shortage of refreshments or towels. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. The beach was awesome and went on for miles. The grounds were well maintained, immaculate and so beautiful. The food was great with lots of choices. We never had any problem at all making reservations at the many a la carte restaurants. The staff working in the Reserve Pool area were always there with a smile to ensure that we had everything we needed. The service we received from one of the employees, Jose Luis De Los Santos, was outstanding! He was so pleasant and gracious. He went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after at all times. Other employees around the pool that deserve mention because they were also very good to us were Santo Rolanco and Emilio Valdez. Between the three of them we couldn't have asked for better service or nicer people. In fact all the employees were so friendly and provided us with the best service anyone could ask for. We will not hesitate to go back! Thanks to everyone at the Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana for everything! This was a perfect vacation in a perfect place!

Room Tip: The reserve, pool view, 2nd floor is perfect.

Stayed at the Royal Service section on the resort - building #1 w/partial ocean view.

Here are just a few (point form) comments:

We stayed in building #1 (there are 30) which is the first building facing the beach on the right side - while view was spectacular, room could have benefited from some TLC - the building/rooms assigned to Reserve guests are nicer/newer IMO, however they're much farther from beach (which given the size of resort and proximity to beach is worth upgrade to RS)
The hotel is BIG, my wife and I travelled alone (no kids), and although we have two small children at home we weren't sure we'd be comfortable ever going back with them due to the size of the resort - we walked everywhere, but they constantly have busses shuttling people from place-place - this is a must if you have small children, and also the safest way of getting around the resort (with them) esp. at night - I could easily see someone getting hit by these extended carts/buses if not paying attention as at times walk ways can be quite narrow.

Food was good, we never tried Passion (didn't feel like spending the extra 100 + tip), but very much enjoyed Vento (pumpkin risotto, and lamb confit are a must), and The Grill - excellent job on the flank steak

LaPalapa a-la-carte restaurant for breakfast and lunch (all the lobster tails you can eat) was by far the best option, only available to Royal Service (RS) guests (Gabi Beach rest. available to Reserve)

As for snack options - make sure you get your pizza at 'Hydra Grill' (by the reserve pool) as their pizza (make sure Ramone in making it), and finger foods are better than the regular pool grill and Gabbi Peach, La Palapa

We went to the Yhi Spa twice - great experience (make sure you negotiate - and ask about the daily/weekly specials). The facial's are great, and make sure you take advantage of their jacuzzis, private pool, and bali beds (which I think are available to all adult guests)

Lastly I'd like to speak about our RS butler Surilenny (Suri) Garcia who was amazing! She was attentive to our needs, while not overly bearing (we heard stories about butlers stocking/harassing their clients). We were fortunate to have been assigned her and truly appreciated her positive and upbeat service. I also want to say thank you to Fausto from the RS lounge (daily morning cappuccinos became a ritual), and Jeremia (RS beach server) who kept our cabana stocked with the most delicious tropical drinks, and cold water.

To summarize - we enjoyed the trip and would likely go back, however we'd have some reservations (stated above) if taking our kids. The place is vast, with many complexes (i.e. not the Riu), keep that in mind if travelling with kids.

Room Tip: If staying Royal Service ask for building #1, otherwise the Reserve has nicer/newer rooms.

This was our family vacation during the March school break. The overall resort was great. We had a family concierge room. Our dinner and cabana (on the beach and pool side) reservation were handle by our concierge. Our room was great and we had a lot of space for a family of 4. The overall style and design of the resort was great. Food was awesome and the Reserve is a quiet place. Overall - the staff did provide great service especially Valentin Caminero and Jose Reinoso. Great experience!

Overall Very very pleased with our choice of the Reserve Paradisius. High points definitely include the Food , the Beach and the Rooms. Food wise - Passion is well worth the extra $50 pp) with great service by Juan/Guastavo/Danniel) ,also excellent food at Fuego, with the other a la carte and even the buffets serving great food. Least favorite was the Steakhouse. Room wise we were well treated by Glady, including pre filled baths which were a delight after a warm day in the sun.

My only caution for future purchasers are these - 1 they do like you to attend a 'vacation club' experience. The presentation was better than most, but be clear with your concierge if not interested as it is minimally a 90 min investment and they are quite assertive with you. 2nd - the reserve is part of a very large resort called the Paradisius and it caters to families. As mentioned by others there is special catering for families and even a kid zone. My husband and I felt a bit 'less' attended to than if we had brought kiddies along, as it felt like the Reserve was really focused on small families and thus told not to stay on ground level, and we had to ask a bit more for things like the cabana reservations etc. That said - still would recommend, just be aware of this as it is not 'adult only' feel.

I also would note the Reserve is far from the beach (about 11 min walk) or 5 min bike. No ocean views for the reserve at all as they are really at the entrance of the larger resort.

we are considering going back to the Palma Real to see if may be a better 'adult only' feel.

Room Tip: if no kids - don't stay on ground level.

first trip with our one-and-a-half year old. was concerned that relaxation would not be possible -- it was! Sophia and the family conceirge program made a huge difference handling everything. On our best days we spent the mornings in a shady cabana at the beach with our son happily playing in the sand. Nap time (which was oddly early and brief) we were by the gorious main pool while he slept in the stoller and afternoons involved cooling off and playing in the kids pool. So many other familes doing the same thing, there were times when there were as many strollers by the pools as in a park slope coffee shop. it was great having so many othe famlies to be with.

We has planned to use the kids zone. While the space was great and the staff professional, our son was having so much fun hanging out with us (and we couldn't deal with the few minutes of crying that inevitably come from our departure) that we didn't use it. looks like other families with todlers often make the same call -- at max there was only one kid without a parent in the 1-3 year old area during our visits.

babysitting ($10 an hr) was available even with relatively short notice. We went out to dinner and got sitters three evenings. All were experienced and responsible. The food at passion was well worth the extra $50 a head, though the service and wine pairing could improve. Other restos were all fine.

Nights we stayed in we used room service and ate on the small deck. room service pasta and risoto were gloopy and should have been sent back for something else. Steak was good and the arugula salad peppery in a way I like.

so grateful for this trip. We'd never been to an "all-inclusive." it is not something we would have contemplated at an earlier life stage. but for right now -- it was awesome!
