We stayed at this resort for two days and found it to be reasonable in terms of amenities, food, entertainment and service.

The check in took a long time for us because of many people waiting at the front desk.
Our biggest issue with the resort is the room that was allocated to us. The room was not clean and smelled musty. We immediately called with a request for change of room but were denied because the hotel was supposedly fully booked. The bigger problem is that we requested the room to be cleaned, which never happened despite 3 calls. If I were you, I would be very careful with room allocation.

On the positive side, the food was above average and the staff was generally courteous.

My hubby and I stayed at the Caribe Club Princess from December 23rd - 28th. Contrary to the previous reviewer, we did not have to pay $50 for Christmas Eve dinner. Overall, the food was decent for an all-inclusive. Don't expect an extraordinary culinary experience. There was something for everyone. Local rum and beer come in abundance; there's 24-hour snack bar which offers burgers, hotdogs, fries, etc to satisfy your hunger especially when you're drunk. The resort was huge, you'll have plenty of things to do. The room is showing its age but it was clean and had character. Most of the staff were friendly and some were a bit rude i.e. the woman booking restaurant reservations. We stayed in one night due to rain; we actually turned on the TV and I was surprise with the variation of channels available in English. This was our first time in the Dominican Republic and genuinely enjoyed its amazing culture. The Caribe Club Princess resort has made our stay even more enjoyable.

It was a bit Low Life to charge $50 for Christmas eve dinner and shut down all of the restaurants, so for those who did not pay there was no food until the beach snack bar opened at midnight. My room was average and very clean, the tv had more snow than the Rockies. The majority of the staff were great, except for the few trying to sell Mama Juana a local rum potion. The food in El Pescador was awesome, the buffet was average. Be sure to get the VIP package to get the better alcohol and a few extra goodies at the snack bar. Not much to do here but drink so I think that's what explains the good reviews, All in all if you want value for your money head to Cancun or the Maya Riviera the beach is much nicer and the food and drink so much better !!!

Room Tip: Get the VIP package, it's just a few extra bucks.

My trip was from the 16th to the 23rd of December and i missed the great ice storm of Toronto :-)))
When booking the hotel i was a bit worried reading all the negative reviews. I followed one the reviewers instructions and asked for a room in the Lirio building and the hotel management provided me the room i had asked for. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 wash rooms. The rooms were perfect. There was a small leak in one of the bathrooms but it was fixed as soon as i reported it. We needed to get some things ironed and we asked the maid for laundry services and she very kindly left a iron in our room while cleaning up. The staff is wonderful and the resort is clean.

The entertainment staff is one of the best. They have 50 cent and Spaghetti and a whole bunch of other guys, who make your stay memorable. They play wonderful music and i got a music CD from them which had all the numbers that they payed during our stay plus more.

The food is ok but try the pasta bar. They will cook anything you get even if it is not from the pasta section. All but a few of my experiments turned out great with the pasta. Then there is a crepe place and it is worth trying out.

The bartenders at the lobby bar, the swim up bar and at the auditorium are the best of the lot. Tipping a dollar will get you far and beyond. Do not forget to carry a whole bunch of one dollar bills with you.

If you need to get to the bravo plaza when there is no casino cart running during the day just walk out of the hotel and you can get a bike ride for a buck. It is really great fun, all the locals were very polite and nice,

The beach is area is great and we had no trouble finding beach chairs. There is always some movement going around

Some people did complain about falling ill but then i saw some guys filling their plates to the brim and i think to my self that there is no way anybody can eat so much meat. All inclusive means different things to different people i guess !!!

There are a whole bunch positives for this hotel and no negatives that i can think of but let me try.

Do Not Change any currency at the hotel. They will rip you off. If you feel like it go to the mall and exchange if you need to get DR $
Beach Towels are a battle to get. They always run out so get the towels before breakfast and keep them in your room till you need them

My Overall experience was very good, I have been to resorts in Cuba and Mexico and this one was better than some of the other ones i have been to.

67 folks of all ages travelled for a wedding from Ontario to this resort Dec 11-18th 2013 and all of us had a wonderful week. Staff were friendly and helpful....a la carts were good..so was the buffet...Lots of things going on around the pool during the day. Enjoyed the amazing beach and swam in the ocean several times a day. Most people did a walk to the market along the beach..do your bartering!
Wedding was great and right on the beach!! Staff did a great job of decorating the beach and did a lovely job of setting up the beachfront restaurant for the wedding dinner.
The resort is small...and perfect for a large group and we managed to see each other all the time....In a big resort each little group would of been lost.
We all met up in the lobby after our dinners and took in the entertainment...Always had fun at the entertainment.
People with negative reviews must just be a little high maintenance.....we did have the odd issue...such as a key card that wouldn't work etc...but....no big deal!
Our group had a great time! I personally spent my days on the beach...it is soft white sand and is so beautiful!!
Try this place out...it was great!
