I've been playing this course, along with my buddies from Canada and Argentina, every May (for the whole month) since it was rebuilt a few years back (as well as the older course for many years before that). The course is beautiful, in excellent condition and very well maintained. It's challenging from the longer tees, with considerable water and traps all around. Anything off the fairway is probably unfindable because of the dense tropical vegetation. The fairways are pretty wide but you will lose several golf balls on this course until you learn to play it, but once you do you should score well. The fairways are relatively hard so you get a great roll. Unfortunately that long roll can roll into the water if you play long with anything more than a slight draw or fade. Greens are not easy to hold but putt well, somewhat slower than my greens here in California. I play Precept Laddie X or Top Flite Gamer golf balls (I'm in my sixties) and these work well here in the warm weather here, long yet play well around the greens. The golf staff are outstanding, friendly and attentive. Over the years these guys have become great friends. We always look forward to seeing them. This course is definitely one to play in Punta Cana.
