We got sucked into a free trip to San Juan Shopping Center. It was a lot of junk for too much money. We did, however, go to Chef Pepper for lunch. I had an awesome burger and a Presidente and my husband had a Chicken Philly. Both were outstanding:)

We have eaten at this restaurant a couple times and have not been disappointed. It is clean, staff is friendly and will do their best if your spanish is limited. We have only been there for lunch and the cesar salad I had was tasty and my husband had no complaints about the philly sandwich.....cervazas are always cold. If you are out doing your shopping it is very conveniently located at the San Juan Plaza....prices are typical of canadian/american hamburger eateries altho I would not class this with the fast food brands. Also have takeout and delivery.

Chef Pepper is one of those fast food restaurants that are extremely conveniently located for locals (and tourists) in Punta Cana - close to the big supermarket, cinema, and shops at Plaza San Juan.
The place itself is clean and remenicent of a typical American diner - more or less. The staff is very friendly and gives good service. This is one of the few restaurant that have incorporated technology into their facility and are using little electronic devices on the tables which allows guests to press a button to call for a waiter to come a serve them or to ask for the bill - a neat little thing that you don't see in most other places in Punta Cana.
On the menu you will find typical fast food - burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, wraps, sandwiches but also, steaks, fish, salads, etc.
My first time there, I went with a friend and ordered the churrasco wrap with fries which was very good - but cold. It's supposed to be cold, but I didn't know so I was not very happy even though it did not taste bad.
The second time I went with my husband and a friend and we ordered a little of everything to share including mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, onion rings which were all very good. Well, it is hard to make a mess of fried food! I ordered the Forest burger with fries which was fantastic - one of the most delicious burgers I have ever had.
I would recommend Chef Pepper to anyone in the mood for fast food - easy, quick, decent quality and fairly low prices...and while you are there, you might as well combine your trip with a visit to the supermarket or to the cinema.
