Owner description: Located in Scape Park, Cap Cana. After passing an interesting trail where you will find some of the most peculiar flora and fauna in the Caribbean, you will reach this spectacular lagoon at the foot of the 65mt high cliff. “go early!”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

we went first thing in the morning and had the place to ourselves. We were staying in Bavaro and it would have costed $40 cab each way to get there (we didn't want to do any of the other activities/tours) but the tour desk at our hotel called Scape Park and they picked us of, drove us there, stayed with us for the 1.5 hours we spent at Hoyo Azul, and drove us home. With the entrance fee we spent $40 less than if we had gotten a cab over. It was so pretty - I'd definitely recommend it!

“Awesome!!”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

I would go back to this amazing place. It was a very memorable experience and highly recommend. You don't have to book an excursion to get there, some took taxis from resort, I participated in the Buggy excursion which was great as well.

“awesome attraction!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

We did the "Dune Boogie" package to Hoyo Azul so Ill rate both here.

Dune Boogie Adventure
We paid $120 for two people through our hotel (Hard Rock) but I talked to others who paid less. Transportation to and from plus entrance fee to Scape Park. Tour included one stop at a beach and one stop at Hoyo Azul.

Pros:
-Lots of fun!
-They will provide transport but the ride is in an open bed truck with bench seats. Its a little rough.
-Different pace from resort
-They will provide water and off brand cola from a 2-liter

Cons:
-It rained, I know they can't help that but it caused our "boogie" to stall out every few puddles
-Our buggy didn't have wheel fenders so every puddle shot mud all over us.
-The mud from the gravel road somehow stained our clothes
-They make you ride in a line, sucks getting behind a slow driver

Tips:
-Bring sunglasses, mud slings everywhere
-Bring a bandana or at least a cloth to wrap your face with if it's not muddy it'll be dusty
-Bring a dry bag in case it rains, towels and extra clothes (something warm, the spring is freezing and the open-bed truck ride back doesnt help)

Hoyo Azul
Entrance fee was included in Dune Boogy tour.

Pros:
Beautiful water
Interesting cave
Life preservers available, center was very very deep

Con:
Cold but might be nice on a hot day- decided to jump in because we were so muddy.
Very small swimming area for the tour group

“Amazing! Must See!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

We took a buggy tour which made a pit stop here. It was one of my favorite parts of our whole vacation. The surroundings are beautiful and the water is the most clear water I could have ever imagined. A little cold but definitely worth the trip. A must see if staying in Punta Cana or Cap Cana
