Me and 2 of my family members did the excursion to Island Catalina and included the SNUBA experience. We were picked up at 8:10am from the Sanctuary Cap Cana resort and arrived at the port to take the boat around 9:15am. Since we had very few days in Punta Cana and were unable to get the certificate for Scuba diving so we decided to go for the 2nd best option which was Snuba and man was it worth it! What a fun time and a huge upgrade from snorkeling. We got up and close to some beautiful corals and saw a huge variety of fish. The water was crystal clear too! The only unfortunate part of the whole experience was that the underwater photographer went with the Scuba divers and forgot to take any pictures or videos of us which we were really looking forward to seeing :( Anyway, the service was great! The guide, Wilson and all the staff members were amazing and fun. The food served at Island Catalina was delicious (the mangoes are out of this world) as well BUT note that you have to wait approx. 2hrs for it to be ready once you arrive at the island, so bring some snacks. Island Catalina is stunningly beautiful, with some of the clearest turquoise waters I ever have seen, and soft white sand but be careful because the sand ridiculously hot!
Note: Even if you dont need to, go up to the restrooms! there is a great view of the island from up there.
I absolutely recommend!
