very disappointed!! so i usually don't write reviews but this experience i had to share!!!.... I booked this hotel at Mk travels here in Miami the lady told us it was great for first timers in Punta Cana so we did. the staff at the hotel are very friendly they work with what they have. as for the hotel itself its horrible.. the pool towels smell really bad they were dirty with black stains with the threads hanging out. the pool closes really early and they do not let you in at night or after 6 pm. one of the days the hotel was full of local residents who were loud, rude and even eating inside the pool (which was very dirty). the bar is really far away from the pool ad they do not let you in the bar area if you are wet. the staff at the bar are very friendly Osvaldo the bartender took care of us and he made awesome drinks even though the have VERY cheap alcohol. as for the food at the buffet not many options, same food almost everyday... the meat was under cooked full of grease and salty. the lack of food being cooked was irritating everyone. there was no ice to put in the drinks so everything is hot. one day i tried to make reservations at the hotel restaurant and food manager Juan Jose told me that it was booked later that night passing by i saw the restaurant empty. so the next day i made my reservations and went, my friend decided to get a the salmon because the menu was very limited (only 3 options) to make the story short she found a hair in her food and her salmon was raw they did nothing about it so we had to run to the buffet to get some food. on the other side the hotel had good entertainment and it was very close to the beach. overall i don't recommend this hotel i rather spend a little bit more and get better quality of drinks foods and activities.

Room Tip: Ask for view to the pool!!!

Omg, I have been to several all inclusive a mostly in the DR because I am Dominican but this place is an absolute embarrassment. It started with the front desk. The guy there who was Haitian had horrible English and terrible Spanish to communicate with him was a pain. He was rude to me in both languages. None of the staff with the exception of the guys at the bar have any idea what hospitality or customer service is all about. The rooms were outdated they gave us actual metal keys and cards to get ONE towel to use for the whole day. Yes we were drunk the entire time and had to throw up multiple times thanks to all of the alcohol is bottom of the bottom shelf. So we go to our rooms to go vomit lol but the toilets don't flush. So I called the front desk to see if they can send someone to fix it and the same rude idiot told me that thinks break in the USA so why should I be upset that the toilett broke. So I go the the bathroom in the Lobby and water is spewing out of all of them. Absolutely everything was awful. Finally when we're ready to get the hell up out of there tried to call our cab and they wouldn't allow it because the they have a specifics company that takes you to the airport for 2x more than what everyone else charges. Lol. It was awful all the way around. Don't waste your money or your time on this place I wish someone high up in the chain of riu resorts reads this cause what we payed was comparable to all of the other hotels in punta cana as well as puerto plata. We spend months saving up to have a couple of days in paradise it's a shame how this company doesn't value us the patrons.

Very disappointed in this resort. Staff was not friendly ...rude at times. Pool closed at 6pm. Poolside bar would not let you in if you were wet. ( it was the only place to get a drink during the day!). Rooms were clean but very small.

I decided to check reviews on this resort days before I was to actually go to it and I was immediately taken over with anxiety. Most of the reviews are horrible. Thank goodness it was nothing compared to what most people said. The service was great, we were always accommodated in a timely manner. very informative when it came to the hotel and its activities
excursions and other tours etc .. knowing that this was the smallest and least expensive of the Riu resorts, everything was as expected. There were Two things I did not like. the fact that the resort is not beach front was a little disappointing but it was about a 2 minute walk.and the food omg .. rice and beans everday, the menu had no variety the food is the same everyday lunch and dinner, you can reserve dinner at either their restaurant or Riu Bembu's which has to be done no later than 7:20 am or else its booked which is stupid if you ask me. Overall I'd rate the trip a solid 4. First time to DR and I loved every minute of it.

I visited and stayed in Naiboa in 2005 and it was wonderfull. I know it was remodelated.
Back in 2005 it was good and all the employes were very nice and friendly.
Beatifull beach and landscape.
Excellent food and sleep quality.
The beverage was not the best but perhaps it changed.

We arrived and was ok at check in but not really interested in giving us any information on arrival. First couple days we were finding our way round then it was Friday and all hell broke loose with the arrival of the locals as they took over the pool and any sunbed with or without towels and pool side stuff at them. We were very surprised how very rude they were. The night time was loud and late. you would expect some noise but it was loud. Saturday and Sunday were much the same people steeling towels off sunbeds while we were in the pool not happy. On the last day a small Dominican child came over to us while we were sitting on a sunbed and there was a drink on the floor he picked it up and tipped it all over the floor and ran off to the pool in shock I couldn't say anything. the bar staff work really hard and the pool guys were great the cleaners did the best they could. But don't go, there were not many English people in this hotel.

We were pretty much the only American's there. The staff was rude to us. We were told we could use the amenities at the other Riu's but we could only make reservations at the Steakhouse at one of the resorts (which is about a mile down the beach). If you try and make reservations you have to be in the buffet area by 7 am to make reservations and then they only take about 10 people each day. We tried to use the other resort's pool and was turned away because we had a different colored wristband. The spa is actually at the Palace hotel and that was very nice, but i hated walking thru the other beautiful resort and then returning to ours. The rooms were very small and the food was not very good. The bed was about a Double size and very uncomfortable. I did like the alcohol dispensers on the wall in the room. The buffet food was different. There were hotdogs for breakfast and tuna pizza. My husband actually got sick one day. What they call their "Italian" restaurant is a joke. They had steak and fish on the menu and NO Italian. I believe this resort was rated between a 3-4 star but its clearly not a 3! The only nice thing about the place is their big pool but unfortunately they don't have a swim up bar and you have to get out and walk up a hill to the bar each time. It is not located on the beach either. You must walk down a boardwalk to get to the beach. These resort was definitely not our favorite.
