“Great little spot for shopping and bargaining”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Great prices hold out to the last and they'll practically give it to you for free. Necklaces, silver, lazurite - a semiprecious stone found only in that area.

Horse back riding on Macao beach. Life is good!!! We also drove dune buggies to the beach. Very pretty scenery.

“Beauty...quiet...waves...no crowds...sunny...ohhhh!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

The definition of a secluded Caribbean beach. Powder, yet not-so-sticky sand. No crowds, no sea-urchins, no rocks, not deep, pristine blue, constant breeze, green mountains at the distance...coconuts get cut for you at beachside. Small but delicious seafood shack nearby has beer and refreshments.
Nice surfing camp for those inclined. Worthy of a 1hr-drive.
Did I mention not busy? Oh restful and sunny. Bring your cover or apply sunscreen.

“Local Vendor Nightmare”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This beach was our last stop of the Bavaro Runners Tour. While it is a beautiful area, you are overcome by local vendors trying to sell their goods. It made it very hard to enjoy our time here because we couldn't walk 5 feet without being approached and followed by locals selling their goods. They are very pushy and persistent. A lot of them send kids to pedal goods.
