From start to finish. The Resort and all it's staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and took such great care of the group that I was with. The staff that held the exercising in the morning was wonderful. Mini me and capuchino were very entertaining and welcomed all of us each morning to a great little work out. I would definitely come back. Thanks to all would helped in the celebration of 7 women turning 50

The hotel is small but it provides great service to all their guests. The dining experiences were all fantastic. Asian Kimonos, International Decadence, and basil and tomatoes Italian had great menus and atmosphere. The wait staffers were all very efficient, especially David who always had a smile on his face. Drinks were never ending from start to finish. The beach bar was the best place to sit to chat with staff and other guests night or day. Daytime wait staff,Santo and Nici made the best drinks and at 3pm Yorjina took over and created wonderful after dinner delights. All supervised by a fine young man named Edison who ran a tight ship but with lots of laughs too. The entertainment staff were alot of fun. Felix taught me many new dances, thrilled us with his drumming abilities and kept a smile on my face with his hilarious stories. He encouraged me to participate in activities and I even did a few. The shows were fun but I usually was too tired to watch them to the end. Overall everyone was fantastic and I look forward to returning to see all the people I met.

After reading several negative reviews regarding theft in the rooms, we were apprehensive about this resort. However, Paola at the check-in desk eased our concerns and provided us with a complimentary safe and an top floor room to be sure we were comfortable. For the ridiculously low price we paid, we fully expected this resort to be a dump. Far from it! This was my favorite place I've been in the Caribbean. There are always pros and cons to every all-inclusive resort. Here are mine:

PROS:
-The resort is very small, which means little walking from rooms to beach or restaurants. It also means you run into the same people every day. So if you are inclined to make new friends, it is easy to do so.

-UPSCALE AMENITIES: There is no noticeable difference between VIP and regular guests. In other resorts, the better liquor, sun beds and beach waitstaff was reserved for VIP guests. At Presidential Suites, every guest enjoys these amenities. The bar served Absolut Vodka, Dewar's Scotch, Tanqueray Gin, Cointreau, Campari and other specialty liqueurs. The waitstaff at the beach was attentive and almost begging to provide service to everyone. It was amazing. Special thanks to Yogina Tapia, Edison & Arismendy at the bar for their friendly service. I would come back to this resort just to hang with them.

-BEACH LOUNGING: There are many outdoor lounge beds and canopy beds. To get one of the prime located canopy beds, you must get up early. And sometimes even that doesn't work. I witnessed an amazing argument over a canopy daybed one morning that was, quite frankly, one of the trip highlights. Real Housewives, Punta Cana edition.

-INTERNET: The main buffet restaurant, Decadence, offers free wi-fi. The restaurants are all located right on the beach, so if you sat in a chaise lounge on the beach that was close enough to Decadence, you could pick up free wi-fi all day.

-ROOMS: The resort appears to formerly have been a condo development that didn't sell well, so the rooms are full apartments with a kitchen and living room. Ours was a 1 bedroom with 1 and 1/2 baths, living room, sun room with floor to ceiling windows, kitchen, laundry nook, and spiral staircase up to a huge rooftop deck. Amazing.

-FOOD: Breakfast and lunch buffets at Decadence were both good, as there were plenty of options, including grilled to order items (omelets, eggs, pancakes, grilled sandwiches, tacos, etc.)

-BEACH: Clean and beautiful. Pretty clear water and plenty of security keeping the hawkers moving. Nice deep sandy stretch of beach on which to lay out or play games.

-ACCESS TO OFF RESORT SHOPPING and DINING: The proximity of this resort to shopping, dining and partying spots is great. You can walk out of the resort to the left and find shopping, food, pharmacy, doctor and casino. To the right you can find souvenir shops, restaurants and a fun night spot (Drink Point).

CONS:

-POOL: The pools are two small waving strips of pool that snake between the buildings. There was no music playing (likely due to room proximity), so even walking by the pool was awkward. I heard several guests with poolside first floor rooms complain that the splashing in the pool right outside their window was not ideal. The lack of ocean front pool was really the only thing about this resort I considered a negative.

-FOOD: Unlike other all-inclusives, there were certain times of the day where no food was available at all. Breakfast buffet is served (I think) from 7-11, lunch from 12:30-3 and dinner from 6:30-9:30. You can order snacks at the beach from 11-5, but nothing is offered after 11. No room service was available. Also, the dinner restaurants offered a good variety, and some seemingly upscale dishes, but these items were maybe a bit ambitious. Often there was poor execution (food brought out cold, dry overcooked meat...) I don't consider this a huge problem, as I've been to many all-inclusives and never think the food is spectacular.

-INTERNET: Despite trying to purchase it numerous times, we could not get internet in our room.

-SECURITY: We did not personally experience any theft at the resort, but heard at least two different stories of other guests who did while we were there. The resort is completely gated on all sides except the beach side, which contains numerous security staff. Theoretically, it should be difficult for a thief to gain access to the property, unless he either was a staff member or in collusion with staff. Hearing the stories gave us enough pause to reconsider coming back, but that is the only thing that might stop me in the future.

Overall... this is an amazing resort and we would love to come back. We hope that the price doesn't get too high once others realize what a gem this is!

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms have roof top patios

When we bought into Lifestyles Holiday in Puerto Plata, we were told all about how the Punta Cana sister resort was brand-new, amazing, blah blah blah. When we arrived, they unapologetically told us that they didn't have our 3 bedroom reservation available. The 2 bedroom which they attempted to place us in was filthy and smelly. The couch was literally falling apart!! We insisted on being moved & the other unit was an improvement, thankfully, but still nothing close to what we expected. Some rooms have little air conditioning. There are very few amenitites here. One beach, one restaurant with painfully slow service. Even the limo was dirty. No gym, I would not stay here again if you paid me!!

This was an amazing place. We have never gone to an all inclusive before and had lots of concerns... all put to rest here. 5 star food (one of my biggest concerns) and staff waiting on you everywhere. Bring "tipping" money and you will be treated like royalty"
Now if you feel you have drank plenty and over the top with food... don't worry Scooby Doo and his team have many activities to work it off you during the day. Salsa and aerobics in the sand are something else. Then add the shows every night.... just a great place with a great beach and blue water. Think they have nice pools but didn't use them because at the beach. Airport shuttle very fine as well. Will definitely return!!! ENJOY!!

I was apprehensive about choosing this location (we bought the groupon) after reading the reviews. I thought people were being overly nitpicky...but no, most of them are correct for the summation of this resort. We weren't picked up like promised, staff has very flippant and didn't seem concerned about any of the issues. The room smelled of sewage so bad we had to relocate and the new room didn't have warm water for the first day. Had to sit through the most awkward "presentation" about the holiday club where the lady told us that she could see that we were unhappy and she wanted to show us what wonderful rooms and services you would get as a VIP member (and other ridiculous statements i won't get into). So basically, they put you in crappy rooms, which should be the opposite if they are trying to get you to buy in? I will say that Eimy and the other servers and staff were all really nice and helpful. The food was hit or miss the Japanese restaurant was the best, we thought. It boils down to this... we still paid a decent amount of money for 4 nights to stay and had expectations that weren't met. If you want to relax and not be bothered, this is not the place for you.

Presidential Suites, Punta Cana had the most attentive staff and truly made the experience what it was. Domingo and Yogina went above and beyond to make sure that all of our requests were met. Every night the resort hosted some sort of event, which included everything from Boogie Night to fire juggling.

Throughout the day the animation team made sure there was never a dull moment by overseeing games and competitions all day. Prizes and awards from the games included everything from free 30 minute massages to bottles of Dominican rum.

Our room had its own private rooftop deck that overlooked the pool and had two generously large living rooms. The place is perfect for family vacations and/or couples get-a-ways. This was the best 5 days of vacation I have ever spent.
