“Above expectations”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Booked this trip because the price was amazing. Didn't know what to expect since there weren't many reviews. We were pleasantly surprised when we received a 2 room suite. However, our room was on the first floor where all of the sales people congregated. After 2 days we were switched to a room on the third floor which was just as nice, and now quiet. The wait staff was great. They were always asking us if we wanted drinks or food. We did not tip them and still received awesome service. However, at the end of our stay, we did tip the two that waited on us the most. We were very surprised that the dinner was not a buffet, but rather a sit down. The menu was the same the entire week we were there, but all of the food at Decadence was good. We are used to traveling at all-inclusives, and usually the food is only so-so. This food was very good. We were not quite as impressed with the Italian restaurant. Neither of us were fond of our meal there and did not go back again. The Japanese restaurant was also very good, and we ate twice at that restaurant. The cocktails were not bad. We did not get served top shelf because we were not VIP, but the frozen pina coladas and bahamama's were good. Shots were plentiful also. Be sure to try the B-52. The resort itself is small, however it is on the best beach in the area. We walked a lot of the beach there, and the staff at the Presidential was on top of keeping the beach in pristine condition. The pools sit between the two buildings which is a big negative if you are a pool person. The sun only hits the pools for a few hours in the afternoon and the pool water was very cold. This didn't bother us as we spent our time at the beach where they have extremely comfortable lounge chairs and beds. The resort shares their water sports with the hotel next door, which worked out fine. We went out sailing on the hobie cat twice. We didn't have to wait long, and we could go out for as long as we wanted. We did discover that it is very very shallow out by the reef. The entertainment staff was also great. Scooby and the rest of the team was always interacting with the guests. The put on shows every night also. The one negative at this resort is that the shut down the bar at 11 right when the show was over. They should keep at least one bar open until at least midnight. There was the VIP bar, but we weren't allowed in there. The only bars were in the restaurant and on the beach, which even though the resort isn't big, it was a long walk for a drink. We did venture the the Vista Sol resort next door after 11:00 and went to their disco. No one there questioned us about wristbands and we had fun there. Others tried going there on other occasions and were turned away. The Presidential should have a bar open and some music or so for those that aren't in bed early. We really enjoyed this vacation. It was probably one of the best we had, and we have traveled quite a bit. Oh, one last thing. Remember you are not in the states. The quality of the hotel rooms is not what you will find in the US. However, they could make some minor adjustments such as screwing faucets down, removing excess grout and pencil lines, and finding a way so that the water from the shower does not run all over the bathroom.

Great time with one exception. I slipped in the hall way on an unmarked wet floor. Lucky for me a couple helped me and found security. Because of the language barrier it was difficult to explain what happened but one look at my knee and thigh told the story. After security found a worker who understood english I was given ice. I was just surprised by the lack of concern, not even a call or visit from any employee of Presidential Suites to see how I was doing. Other than that, we still enjoyed ourselves even though it was a painful 4 morr days.

My husband and I got an amazing deal on this trip and were not expecting much but a good beach. We are completely blown away with the accommodations (huge clean and safe) food ( very good considering all inclusive) and staff ( some of the nicest most generous fun people). We really can't say enough other than we hit the jackpot with this place. We took a mile walk down the beach and our hotel was by far the nicest and had the best set up. We had a blast getting to know the staff and with the entertainment at night. Our only issue was our safe didn't work because the batteries were dead. Bring a lot of ones for tipping and the staff will do anything you ask. It's not the 4 seasons but I have to say as a well seasoned traveler I am very impressed, I don't want to leave!

Presidential Suites – Punta Cana – a Life Styles Resort

I was very skeptical before we purchased our package. The price was absurdly cheap (for flight and all inclusive) and the reviews were a mixed bag at best.
Upon a girlfriend’s recommendation of, “Just do it,” her comforting message pushed me to take gamble.
We, my boyfriend and I, had never been to the Caribbean or to an all-inclusive, however we had both traveled extensively. I figured if the resort was really lousy there were plenty of options in Punta Cana to switch to.
We grabbed a cab from the airport that took us directly to the resort. We were greeted by massive stonewalls, tall iron gates and a guard. We were promptly let in and headed to check in. There was a festive mood in the front lobby; receptionists all spoke English. We got our resort info and were escorted to our room.

*The room was HUGE, just as it was pictured on the website, with a rooftop deck furnished with lounge chairs, table and chairs, and a canopy lounge bed. The penthouse suite was massive for two people, but ideal for two couples or a family. Nonetheless we enjoyed it immensely.

*A/C was kicked on when we arrived, however it did have a funny (damp air-musty) smell. (We recognized the smell as we live on the coast in Maine and know moisture can wreak havoc to many things.) However, we were happier to open the windows and capitalize on the Caribbean breeze that was omnipresent.

*The grounds of the resort were small; initially I thought it might be a drawback, however in the end it would up being a massive bonus. The intimacy provided an opportunity to get familiar with other guests and not feel like a factory which some of the other resorts looked like. The beach beds and loungers were decadent and maintained throughout the day. We never had a problem finding something to sit or lounge on, however if you want a canopy bed in the sun, get out early to reserve the beachfront ones ☺ The landscape and hardscape were groomed to perfection.

*The staff were always out cleaning, sweeping, raking, moping, etc. In the morning the crew were even out raking the seaweed up off the tide line.
Security were always present on the beach and at the entrances of the resort. It was not an intrusive feeling, more of a subtle comfort. Roaming venders knew which line NOT to cross at this resort.

*Wait staff were typically beyond friendly both in the restaurants as well as on the beach. I was impressed with their attentiveness. Our absolute favorite was Arismendi – he worked 3-11p on the beach. Young, personable, patient, friendly, attentive, sweet, honest, all around best wait staff! There was another woman that worked breakfast and lunch. We did not catch her name, but we enjoyed her immensely as well – long black hair highlighted with burgundy. She was great too!!

*The Animation Crew, aka the entertainment crew, they were fantastic!! Charlie, Arrow and Scooby were the ringleaders, but they could not have pulled it off without the help of Mini Me, Felix, Stephanie, the DJ, and the rest of the players. My boyfriend and I seriously thought we might get bored on vacation and brought a ton of stuff to read, HA, who were we kidding?! The crew offered a lot of activities: Spanish lessons, aerobics, yoga, games, etc. They would typically rope us into some silly game (which the winner always won a bottle of Rum) then segued in to volleyball – the crew were competitive amongst each other, but they always evened out the teams so everyone could play and feel welcome. “Happy Hour, Happy Hour” the famous quote that meant “do over” for the guests. We played beach volleyball everyday, sometimes twice a day, and often participated in the silly but entertaining games. Caution, sitting near the volleyball court during a game can be VERY entertaining, but beware of the rogue ball!!
The crew also provided nightly entertainment at “the beach club”. Typically some sort of dancing with the DJ or Karaoke – the crew were SUCH great sports and beyond patient with our white, northern dancing feet, or lack there of! Felix aka Mr. Shy, I am beyond grateful for his dance instruction. THAT CREW COULD DANCE!!

*The Food was very good. Living in the Foodie city of Portland, Maine, we can quickly turn our nose up to mediocre food. I admit we were very impressed with every dinner we ate at Decadence. We had dinner at all three locations, but Decadence was by far our favorite dinner choice. Lunch always had a delightful assortment of salads, desserts and juicy whole roast chicken; each day was a different flavor. I had read in another review something to the effect of: the chicken was disgustingly littered with bones. I laughed because the chicken was prepared so naturally and minimally processed which we foodies can truly appreciate - connecting with our food source rather than eating mystery meat. The foods were always freshly and thoughtfully prepared. We certainly approved of the food!

*Sales Pitch: the cheap price of our stay, came with strings attached. On day two after breakfast there was a “welcome gift” for us, aka a sales pitch to become members of the resort – We listened to the pitch and truly liked the idea. We could have walked away from the pitch at any point, but we bought into the idea. After a couple of hours we took their bait, but held out for a screaming deal that fit within our budget. We will see how easy it is to redeem this VIP status on our next visit to one of their resorts. We were not the only ones who bought in to their sales pitch. We noticed many VIP bands which made us think we must not be fools because so many other people have done it before and after us?!

*Two other minor things worth mentioning: We did receive maid service despite what other reviews mentioned. And, our last night the water stopped working in our room (apparently others had the same problem) about midnight but resumed by 7:30a. Since it did not impact us terribly, I did not inquire about the problem. As far as we were concerned, the problem was solved; therefore it was not a problem.

*Overall we were greatly impressed and the resort exceeded our expectations!

First time in Punta Cana . We had a great vacation on the recently opened Presidential Suites by Lifestyle HolidayVacation Club resort. The facility is small but very well maintained with a gorgeous beach. The food is world class. With only 3 restaurants we were quite impressed with the varieties and especially the quality of the food. We also would like to express our gratitude towards the excellent, attentive and extremely friendly service staff. We'd like to thank the front desk lady named Ari, the waterers Kariola,Julio,Ruben and the wonderful
entertainment people Eimy,Stephanie,Christy,The Arrow,Charlie. A great resort we would highly recommend.

I got a great deal on this resort through a website and since it was a new resort, I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting. I was BLOWN AWAY. Champagne at check in, a wonderful friendly staff to show us around. Our room was huge, 2 bed, 2 bath, with a private rooftop balcony. We only ate at 2 of the restaurants, Decedance and Kimono, both were good. The staff in all parts of the resort were friendly and very welcoming. The beach cabana beds were so awesome and the beach side service was great. The entertainment team got the guests involved in outdoor activities (volleyball, dance lessons, yoga, etc) and made sure that everybody felt welcome. They were part of the night time entertainment and got everybody involved in dancing and having a great time. Big thanks to the whole team, especially Scooby, Felix, and Charlie. This is a relaxing resort with fun things to do if you want to participate or just lay on the beach and relax. I had an amazing time, I would definitely go back!

Room Tip: The weather is gorgeous, don't spend time in the room!

My wife and I stayed at the PS in mid-January. From our arrival to our departure, the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The reception staff was amazing- Andres the greatest, Laura, Helen, Marquilina, too). The rooms very large and extremely clean (muchas gracias Zeneida). The restaurants were fine, everyone was exceptional...Antalin, Sylena, Ramon and Almenito, and the bar always ready. Then there were the cabana young men and ladies...who also acted as chaperons for the evening activities...Stephanie, Charly, Scooby, Eimy, Felix, Minimi,, La Flecha - they were all great and so hospitable and the best of them all were Ramon Benjamin and Cristy! Thank you for an amazing vacation!
