Owner description: Welcome to the fabulous Iberostate Bávaro Golf & Club, created by leading designer P. B. Dye. This magnificent course boasts a length of 6,897 yards, a rating of 73, and a 126 slope. The 105 white silica sand bunkers dotted throughout the course form an eye-catching contrast with the intensely green Supreme Paspalum grass, perfect for this tropical region. Together with the lakes, streams, and even some desert-like features, it creates a combination of colors that is impossible to be forgotten. Simply put, an irresistible temptation for both Pro and Amateur guests staying either at our fine Iberostar properties or at any other resort nearby.
Useful Information: Bathroom facilities, Lockers / storage, Wheelchair access, Activities for older children

Unlike other tropical courses my two older sons and I have played on. Well manicured fairways and greens and challenging sand traps and hazards as we found many lost balls nearby. Lots of wildlife around the greens. Course staff delivered drinks and snacks. The clubhouse is exclusive although the lunch menue could be enhanced.
Overall service is good and course somewhat challenging.

Before we left for Punta Cana on 12.27.2013, we were hoping to play Punta Espada. After discussing golfing in Punta Cana with my two sons, we decided it was just too expensive to golf at Punta Espada. I'm not cheap when it comes to golf (I've spent the money to play Cabo Del Sol in Cabo Mexico) but at $275 per person plus caddy, tip and rentals clubs, it would have been $400 per person. We decided to play at the resort course we were staying at instead, the Iberostar Golf Club. For the 2:00pm twilight rate of $89.00 including rental clubs, we couldn't pass it up. The course itself was fantastic. It can be very challenging but does provide wide fairways. The clubs that were included in the rental were their mid level clubs. For like $25 more you could upgrade to higher end clubs. We decided to use the ones that were included for the $89.00 and they were very good clubs. No problems at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day golfing at the Iberostar Golf Club and would definitely golf there again should we return. Take advantage of the twilight tee time.

nice course, was busy when i went so played slow but overall a good mix of challenging and easy holes.

fairway are fairly large but the approach are very unforgiving with many deep bunkers and hazard around the green

overall liked it very good value for punta cana even if expensive compared to home ($135 after 2pm)

drinks : included
cart: ok good condition
Practice: close to start, hitting off grass which is nice
quality of grass: good
Staff: friendly
pro shop: on the expensive side

would recommend for value

We booked our round through our West Jet Rep at the Hard Rock Resort and got a very reasonable rate which included transportation to and from our resort, all the local beer and Coke products, water and light sandwiches that you could eat and drink during your round of golf and the driving range. I also believe they had hard liquor in the golf cart as well. When we arrived we were treated with respect and were well served with our clubs treated well and loaded onto our cart. We then hit the driving range which offered a variety of unique targets which of course we did not hit or at least the ones we aimed for. We golfed at 10:00 on a Friday as a twosome and had no wait times and felt like we had the course to ourselves. The fairways were in excellent condition as well as the greens. If you hit the ball off the fairway the balls were very easy to find on the front 9 and a little more difficult on the back nine. We found the course holes pretty straight with no big dog legs but gave this course a good challenge was the undulating ground and placement of bunkers. Hole 16 is a short 110 yards but nothing but water between you and the first 90 yards gave us a challenge and lightened our golf bags for our return trip home. We did encounter some quick but wicked rainfalls, should this happen to you, put up your front window and turn into the rain and it will pass in 5 mins or so like it never even happened. Once done we hit the 19th hole, you will receive a ticket for a free meal at the beginning of your round with the purchase of a beverage, the hamburger was one of the best I have had anywhere and chicken club is a must. The beer is $5 in the club house and ice cold, we had Stella but they have a selection of local and standard North American and European beer. Last but not least the Pro shop had a good selection of gear and we picked up two great shirts at normal prices you will find in any club house. I would go back for a round if I was ever back in Punta Cana.

Nice facility, but not a feeling of high service or luxury. Price included beverages and sandwiches. However, only 2 choices of beer and sandwiches. No snacks, limited no- name branded liquor. Course was a mix of brown and a little barren in some spots. Never felt like I was on a high quality course. This course should not cost over $60.
