Owner description: Three Jesus loving friends with more than 30 years of experience, got together to share their Stoke and all the benefits that Surfing gave them through their life; teaching kids from 4 to 76 years old to Surf, to respect the ocean and nature in general. We are in one of the most beautiful and undeveloped beaches of the Dominican Republic, on the Punta Cana area: Macao Beach, a localism free beach where everybody is welcome, with six different breaks and one of the safest beaches to learn how to surf, and yet exciting enough for experienced surfers. Literally making dreams come true, specially for those that dreamed all their life about riding waves, for those that want to make Surfing their main sports activity, and also for those that just want to get Surfing out of their "bucket list". Surf Shack with showers and lockers.

That says it all! My daughter and I did this our first day June 25th in PC to cross off one the things on my bucket list and we had a blast! Raphael and Armand picked us up at our hotel and delivered us to the surf shack on the gorgeous beach of Macao. We did the quick beach tutorial and yes folks it's true- EVERYONE surfs! I was up on my second try ( I am 60) and my daughter on her first try. Our instructors were 1 on 1 and VERY patient and helpful. The lesson runs about 2+ hours with a coconut break from one of the locals (no charge). There will be a photographer taking snaps of the whole experience which he will down load on CD for you for a nominal fee. Also there are T-shirts for sale so take some extra $$ if these may interest you. We stayed for lunch which was freshly caught mahi mahi cooked right there on the grill. Everyone sits family style at the picnic tables to have lunch. This was one of the best meals ever- $10.oo per person. There is a locker for storage- they provide the lock and they also provide the rash guards. Can't say enough about how great this adventure is- just DO IT!!

It was a highlight of our trip!!! Gustavo and Jack (his dog) picked us up at our hotel right on time and we were on our way to ride some waves. The beach is beautiful and it was just 2 of us to enjoy it all! After 15 min of on-land training we were on our way. Each of us had instructors with us, who were extremely good, patient, and encouraging. After 15 min we were standing on the boards and riding waves! Such a great feeling!!! We had a short break later with coconut and watching Jack - the surfing dog, ride a wave. Such an amazing dog! My boyfriend and me enjoyed surfing tremendously! So happy we got to do it!

We’ve been traveling the Caribbean for a few years now each place we go we do a few excursions. At this point it always seems like the same thing, zip lines, ATVs, dunes buggies, catamarans, snorkeling. Rarely an excursion will come along that stands out like Macao Surf Camp.

The surf camp is located in a small shack along a clean and beautiful beach. You may feel a little out of place in the shack at first but then you realize the charm in how this is perfect for the laid back life of surfers, not to mention you’ll be greeted right away by the very friendly surfing dog Jack. All the instructors were very nice and seem to enjoy what they do.

Lesson starts on the beach with the basics that you will need out on the water, and in no time at all you’ll be up on your board, or at least trying. The waves seem to be just big enough to knock you around a bit, but never too big to keep you on the beach. The instructors work real hard to get you up and surfing, pointing out things you need to try in order to be a better surfer. I think this is something that almost anyone of any age can participate in. Rafael, who is part owner, takes great pride in his business and getting each of his pupils surfing by the end of your lesson.

Our group really had a lot of fun doing the surf camp. You will get a pretty good workout, but you’ll have fun the whole time. Just make sure you don’t have any other plans, you’ll want to relax when you get back to your resort. At the end you will have a chance to buy the pictures that the photographer has taken of you throughout your lesson. They gave us a price of 15$ per person, 45$ total for all our pics. You could never get a deal this good back in America, so it is well work the price for some amazing pictures. Your friends and family will never know how good or bad you are at surfing, but they’ll see the pictures and say: I didn’t know you surf.

“You’re not a tourist, you’re a surfer” – Rafael
