“Fun Weekend”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

Just got back from a fun weekend break with 5 of my girlfriends at Secrets Royal Beach. A quick weekend getaway from Philly before Xmas. Amazing weather. I cannot praise highly enough the staff at this resort, all were helpful, professsional, attentive and with a great level of English. Special mentions must go out to Arcenio (who ensured we all had a relaxing day on the beach in our Oasis, bringing sparkling wine and sushi on demand right to our lounge chairs), Juan Carlos (JC) in the buffet resturant who kept the freshly squeezed orange juice coming in the morning and was constantly around with a bright smile. Both Laura and Jasmin in Concerige are a true asset to the hotel.

Overall we had fun, we relaxed all day at Secrets and then went over to Now Larimar for evening entertainment, the disco was lively and the kareoke evening in the courtyard at Now Larimar was entertaining! The lobby bar is also far more lively over at NOW.

Rooms at Secrets are spacious and comfortable, they do not have the wow factor of some higher end all inclusives I have stayed at but perfectly fine for a beach vacation as who wants to spend all day in the room anyway!

The hotel was nice. I wish we had booked a longer stay. Service from the kitchen staff and other wait staff was FABulous. The food was outstanding. The room was wonderful. In fact we mentioned to one of the butler on the beach that our room did not have the honeymoon banner. Not only did he have the banner but up but he ran a fragrant bath in the jacuzzi with a rose petal path to the tub. I only wished they had some kind of cover by the jacuzzi on the back terrace on the ground level (it wasn't ready for skinny dippers...LOL!!) The hotel entertainment was very nice as well. There is no real value in the coupons, we still spent the money evern though we used the coupons. Avoid seeing the concierge, he's only there to set you up for time share sell. We DID NOT enjoy the moonlight massage. It was by the moonlight kinda but the skill set of the lady masseuse was so not worth price at all. It was much too much money even with the coupon to be that dissatisfied. We requested our money back but got the run around. Other than that, it was really nice vacation and honeymoon.

My wife and I went to Secrets Royal Beach for our 2 year anniversary in November. We had a really nice time and had some beautiful weather. The beach on the property is beautiful as well as the resort property overall. We spent most of our days lounging by the pool reading and relaxing. We did bring our own floats and enjoyed floating around the lazy river with our drinks. We were able to eat at all of the restaurants on both the Secrets side and the Now side. I would say the food was good but nothing exceptional. The Hibachi grill was probably my favorite. The room was very nice but I was a little disappointed with the view. The ocean view room isn't really an ocean view but more of a pool view with a very limited view of the ocean. I really enjoy sitting on the balcony and being able to see and hear the ocean but that wasn't possible. We really enjoyed ourselves but I'm not sure we would go back. Not because there was anything wrong but just because we enjoy going new places and there was nothing over exceptional to make us really want to return. Overall it was a very nice resort in a good location with many more possitive attributes than negative.

I spent a week at the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana, with a group of 9 single friends. We ranged in age of 30 to 75 and each of us had a great time, there were lots to enjoy, eat, drink and plenty of activities for all ages. The facility was amazing, we stayed in the swim up suites, and the winding pool outside of our walk out was phenomenal.

The temperature was perfect, although we did have a few tropical showers, but it was just that, tropical showers that lasted a short time and you went right back to your activities. The food and service was great, the facility was very well managed and kept and the staff was superb.

There is a lot of seaweed at the beach that washes ashore daily; however the staff does a great job of staying on top of cleaning the beach as well as the pool. The beach and pool side service was constant, you never had to look or wait for a server; they were at your beck and call.

The shows and entertainment were filling and all of the staff that we encountered went above and beyond to make sure our trip was enjoyable. The spa treatments were good, but I can't wait to go back for treatments in the spa sanctuary which is currently being built and I believe will open the end of this year. Secrets Royal Beach, is all of that starting at check in with Leany, cocktails with Gladys, activities with Winnie and our French meals with Flourentino, they all treated us like royalty. I can't wait to go back, as they say at Secrets Royal Beach "excellente'".

Room Tip: Treat yourself upgrade to the swim up rooms

My wife and I after staying inother resorts decided to try Secrets RB ....BIG MISTAKE! The rooms are cookie cutter rooms (all the same layout) one has to be a contortionist to see the ocean from your balcony, so there is really no actual 'oceanview room" as you many expect, bring your binoculars. The hotel does not have a casino or evening night club, one has to go to the adjoining hotel Now Larimar (which isn't an adults only resort so you can imagine the crowd/kids) for evening entertainment. Although we went for a little R&R we found the place to be boring, not many activities during the day. Before I forget, the air conditioning has it's good days and bad. As a matter of fact one of the restaurants could not open for evening dinner because it was so hot in there.

The food was EXCELLENT as well as the SERVICE, and PEOPLE, that much I have to say. *****Money is tight now-a-days spend it wisely!!!!

We spent 5 nights at the Punta Cana Secrets and the best part of our stay was the fun we had with Speedy, Stephaine, Blondy, Winnie, Akon and Isaias as our entertainment guides. they made sure eveyone who wanted to be involved was warmly invited to zumba, water aerobics, and dance lessons to name a few. It's always a pleasure to experience the excitement and pure joy of people who truly enjoy their work. Kudos to all of the above!
