Went with a group of 6ppl it was was a short ride to the resort from the airport.
They served us drinks with us just sitting in the main lobby relaxing excited to see how nice the resort looked.
We decided to stay in the preferred section as we were looking for a relaxing time with the hopes of less ppl in that section and better upgrades.... It was not the wrong choice.
Check in was quick and easy and the staff were polite very friendly and attentive.
The food was really quite good no one in our group of 6 got sick the whole week not like in cuba or mexico. In the preferred section you have seaside grill which we ate there everyday..food was really good.
All the a la carte restsurants are fantastic the buffet for breakfast was good they had a big selection of whatever you literally wanted.
We did go early to reserve seats or cabanas on the beach they can get all reserved quickly. The weather was beautiful rained only twice and it was at nite lol beach was ok there was some seaweed but they had ppl clearing it like twice a day so it wasnt a big deal.
Now the best part of this resort isn't the resort itself which is beautiful, ive read reviews where ppl weren't happy with there rooms or the food was bad too many bugs and such..but the staff here is what really makes this resort wonderful. The moment we arrived to check in to never having to wait long for a cold drink the service was outstanding. The general manager there Pedro Thomas is very down to earth he's friendly and makes you feel welcome as we had a great conversation about his earlier days playing baseball you can see him walking around making sure everything's on point everyone's doing there job. Germain always made sure we had drinks, Carlos was always making sure we were ok, we didnt have to do much for ourselves on this trip which was exactly what we were looking for!!
Our room was disgustingly amazing....we got the honeymoon suite. Three sections..living dining area, bedroom, washroom thats bigger than my bedroom at home lol. The maid service was great they made everything neat and clean, mini bar always stocked, the other rooms were pretty amazing too they were on the top floor of building 4 they were clean and it had vaulted ceilings which made it feel look bigger.
I would definitely stay there again everything was exactly what we wanted and needed with a little more...
I would recommend the upgrade to the preferred section albeit the main resort would be nice as well.
Please request Alexander if u decide to get the butler service! ! He is the man!! If u need something he will make it happen.
Nice guy easy to talk to very friendly works hard..just wanted to say thanks for making stay a lot more comfortable.
Thanks to all the wonderful hard working staff for making our trip a relaxing and wonderful.

First time in the Caribbean for us. We travelled during the peak period over the Easter School holiday at the beginning of April 2014, two adults a 14 year old.

Hotel – The hotel itself is fantastic. Not massively big in comparison with others, but it never felt busy even for the time of year we went. It has two really big wind round swimming pools, that were never busy. If you wanted a prime pool side slot you did need to do the towel thing in the morning but there was always beds a bit further away from the pool.

Bar and Entertainment staff were excellent, and there was always thing to do (If you wanted). Our 14y year old got roped into, volleyball, table tennis, etc etc. People did seem to tip a bit, but most concluded that it made no difference to the service you received which was always very good.

The place was kept immaculately clean, and everything felt very well maintained.

Food – Was brilliant. The main World Restaurant, had a freshly pizza station, choice of fresh pasta dishes, fresh meat and fish cooker to order, and an excellent fresh cooked Fajitas, plus massive of other option. There were 5 other restaurants, none of which you needed to book. Most we did not have to wait to go in, but the Japanese which is excellent is busy so you get an estimate of the wait and are given a little disk that bleeps for you to go in, so you can go back to the bar for another drink. Really like the Beach restaurant, the Italian. We did not try the French (Adult only), and avoided the Mexican as a few people were not complementary about it. There was also a burgers and chips place open by the beach from 11am till late plus barbeques ever other day.

Beach – There was always a lovely on shore breeze coming of the beach and plenty of sun beds. Although our pictures look fantastic, we were a bit disappointed that the sea always seemed to have seaweed in it. The staff cleaned the beach every morning but could do nothing about the sea itself. You could walk both ways on the beach front and in both direction you soon got passed the 5 hotels by the beach and were walking along the forest edge. Although the seaweed was a bit built up in places this was lovely. It was also good that the beach sellers were not allowed more than a couple of meters away from the water.

The Hotel offers Hobicat sailing ( ½ hour a day), longer would have been nice. There was also paddle boats, snorkels you could use, and beach games like bowls that you could play

Rooms – Initially we were given a room with a view of a fence, but were moved after complaining to a third floor room with a great view over the gardens. Rooms themselves we very nice large, two double beds, small but nice balcony, air con etc. Also had a mini bar with beers, fruit drinks and water ( All free). Just a bit disappointed that you always need to chase them to change the mini bar. Rooms were cleaned daily, and they did a turn down service. As they seemed to always come to do turn down when we were showering we soon learned to put the do not disturb label on the door when we came of the beach.

Bars / Entertainment
There is a nice bar in the lobby, and one open in the evenings in the garden area where had music most nights. The pool bar is open during the day and when they have entertainment in that area. There is also a very small bar by the sea grill restaurant.
Entertainment was OK, and was often done by the entertainment staff. Mostly this involved getting guest up from the audience to do something.

Big Plus Points, Food was brilliant , staff were always polite friendly, Clean and fresh feeling hotel, Lovley sea breaze without which you might have baked. Plus the coffee shop, which although I thought we would never use, was brilliant for a morning coffee

Small Negative points – Unless you were privileged club or paid a small fortune you had no free wifi in the Hotel. Just too things around the hotel where they were trying to sell you bits for the sauna, trips out etc. Seaweed in the water.

The food was awesome all around. The entertainment staff were just awesome especially Jack and Candyman!! Service was great, beach was nice and clean! The pool was good with a good swim up bar, only drawback with pool is no swimming after dark and pool bar closed at 5pm. Would recommend this resort to all!

This was my second time staying at Dreams Palm Beach, and it was even better than the first! To begin, the food is amazing, and there is a huge selection of restaurants, and the buffet is great. The size of the resort is perfect because everything is within a two minute walking distance. The beach is beautiful, the pools are great, and the drinks are delicious! The best part about it however, is the staff. Everyone there is so friendly. I became close friends with a lot of the staff on the entertainment team. Sonny, Lisandro, Gasolina, Woody, Jack, Candyman and all of the Dreams entertainment team have so much energy and know how to have fun. My trip wouldn't have been the same without them. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone... it is great for couples, families, and friends. Gracias por todo Dreams Palm Beach! I will be seeing you soon !

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room close to the beach with a big shower :)

This is our third trip to the Dominican. We love this Island, the beaches, the weather, and the people are all almost perfect. We booked our trip this time at the Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. It was listed at a 4.5 star resort, so we thought we would give it a try. When we booked we upgraded to the Preferred Club option, which reads like it is an adults only section with a private pool and beach. We do not mind sharing our resort with kids provided we have a private section away from them. We have done our time with vacations with children, now that my children are grown we very much enjoy the much needed break from them considering I work every day with kids. This is not the case at this resort.

The first room in building 5 directly overlooked the entertainment center stage where they often have loud entertainment. This building also opens directly to the main pool area, very loud and stressful. We promptly went back to the desk and asked for a room change and were moved to a room in building 4. This was much better as it open to the preferred club pool. We also asked about the preferred club being adults only and were told that Dreams is a family resort and there is no adults only place other then children under 12 are not permitted in the hot tub, which is connected to the pool where they are permitted.

We requested a redone room and were told that all the rooms in the preferred club have been redone. The room its self was fine it was freshly painted and had new furnishings, the bathroom was nice and everything was clean. If you looked closely you will notice that the property is old and has just been repainted but things were on the older side. The only lock on the room door beside the hand was a very old chain lock. The room had a ceiling fan and AC which was locked 24 degrees C this converts to right around 75 F. Personally that is way to warm for me. You were able to turn the thermostat down but that did not matter I think they have it over ridden at the main unit so that is never gets below this. Sleeping at night wasn't bad with the ceiling fan going though but during the day it was quite warm.

The mini bar was stocked with coke, diet coke, fanta, sprite, juice and beer. we drank two coke and request no light beer and preferred regular beer. Our first day they replaced the beer but replaced nothing else. The second day they replaced nothing the third day they still didn't replace anything so we went to the desk in the preferred club and let them no, still no restock. The following day we complained again and finally we were restocked very nicely I might add. Towels are replaced (if needed) by the turn down service maid so if you put the DND sign out before they come you are out of luck for new towels. It also list a pillow menu for the preferred club but this was never offered to us.

The preferred club lists many extras and benefits, I'm not sure how you know if you are getting them the only real difference beside private check in and check out we saw was that there was a private lobby that you needed your room key to get into. The pool and beach were open or people to just wonder in. This is a no wrist band resort so there is no way to tell who is from what section. It didn't seem worth the money to pay for the upgrade if you could just pay for the standard room rate and wonder into the preferred section and use the pool and beach.

The pool in the preferred section is much quieter and more relaxing then the main pool with all the activities. The pool waiter was amazing he quickly knew what we liked and would bring it over right after we sat down. He never let us run out and would return with a new drink as we were finishing the one we were drinking.

The beach I must say was disappointing. Personally I prefer waves. This beach does have sand (not sure of the review that complained of there being no sandy beach) but no wave due to a reef off shore. Because of this sea grass would was up and collect just off the sore line but you had to walk though lager sections of it to get to deeper water. If you have kids or prefer calmer waters you might find the beach perfect.

The food here was some of the best we have ever had at any resort in the
Dominican. Also the fact that you did not need reservation was a huge plus, anyone who has ever stayed at a resort where you need to make reservation into restaurants know what a pain this is. We never had any problems getting into any of the restaurants and ate at different ones every night. The food from room service was awful, avoid this.

Other resorts we have stayed at getting towels after 8am in the morning can be an impossible task but not here. No matter what time of day we went into the preferred club lobby they had fresh clean beach towels. We were also always able to find lounge chairs with no problem also. They say if you need one just ask an employee and they will get one for you.

We would never stay at another Dreams resort at this point in our life, and I am very glad that this was not our first experience in the Dominican for I fear we might never have returned and would have missed out on how truly amazing this island is based on our experience at this resort. That being said we had a fun time and would not have been disappointed had this resort been given the 3 stars it deserves instead of the 4.5-5 stars it shows up as. The resort staff was like that of the Dominican people and are all very friendly and helpful, they did what they could to correct the problems we had.

Room Tip: Ask not to face the main pool area

I Just got back from the Dominican where I stayed at Dreams Palm Beach. My mom, our friends and I had an amazing experience. The main highlight of this trip for me was the whole entertainment crew. They were AWESOME noting especially Jack, Lilian, Lisandro, Candyman, Elius, and Sonny (not sure about the spelling). Wherever you went it seemed like they were available to make you laugh, Always dancing and everytime you saw them they would call you by name or by where you are from I don't know how they remember so many but wow! The entertainment was hilarious especially the stars night where the entertainment team all dressed up and danced and lips-inced to many familiar songs and soundtracks like sexy and I know it, Grease, etc.(HILARIOUS) and the circus. Another highlight was going to get our morning coffees at the coffee shop. The emypoyees there also remembered our names and gave us big hugs when we were taking off. Coco boy (Jose) was one of our favorites at the resort and the two girls who worked there were great as well. Food was great at all the restaurants especially Italian. It wasn't like other resorts where you have to make reservations the day you got there for the whole week, there was 5 restaurants and a huge buffet all open 3 times a day and not closed for long to chose from every day where the longest we had to wait for a table at the restaurants was 40 minutes and that was only one night. There was more variety than you can get through at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper as well as a late night snack time open 11-5am (The girls at the entrance of the buffet were super friendly and gave you a squirt of hand sanitizer on your way in and out of the buffet). The restaurants were italian, asian, mexican, french and the seaside grill. Italian was our favorite! While you wait they have plenty tables all along the strip where you can get drinks brought to you. If you get into the restaurant before they're back (which doesn't take long at all) they bring your drinks in the restaurant for you. They had two large pools in which one had a volleyball net and the other with the swim up bar (with in water stools and quick service) along with a jacuzzi. One of the pools also had a kiddy pool connected to it. On this note there were alot of families there with young children but the resort was so big it was no trouble to find a lawn chair to lie back in the peace and quiet. On the beach there were plenty spots in and out of the shade, the water was great and there were lots of activities throughout the day like beach volleyball, soccer, darts, kayaking (free) and we also snorkeled and parasailed which we had to pay for but it was definetly worth it. They told us to bring bread out to snorkel so we brought a bun each to attract the fish but if I was to go again I would bring a few since the fish literally eat it right from your hand. I got my hair done on the beach for a really good price and they said it would last for 3 weeks, so far so good! The girls did a great job on me and my friend and you could pick whatever style or beads you wanted. The other vendors on the beach weren't as pushy as in cuba and bargained well with you and let you go after the second or so time you said you weren't interested. Also, on the beach there was a barbeque all day with burgers and hot dogs, fries and nachoes and all the toppings you could ask for. There was also employees constantly coming around collecting empty glasses and plates and if you asked for a drink they would bring it right to you, there was Jesus who was a sweetheart and always had a smile on his face and two older guys, one fairly short and one maybe named Carlo's who danced around and said "I love my job" all the time. These guys worked really hard keeping the beach clean and props to them for remembering where to come back with the drinks because I couldn't even remember where I was sitting haha. We met the General Manager, Pedro who was very polite and made sure our stay was great which it was! The Rooms were awesome as well with no bugs and room service twice a day to restock our fridge with water, coke, fanta, and beer in the fridge and make cute shapes with our blinds and comforters along with real flowers intertwined into their designs. Our maids were Marie and Marie (yes the same name) and they were both very polite and swift! There was a safe in the room for passports and money and such but nothing was taken from the room. Each room had their own patio with a lovely view from every angle (we had a room on each side of the building (6)) as well as a table and two chairs.Another positive about this trip was that the employees other than their great attitude was that they did not ask or suggest to be tipped. At the end of the week we did tip most of them a few dollars and they were very thankful. There was a few weddings every day which were adorable right on the beach. Everyone constantly had a smile on their face at and truly looked like they were enjoying themselves (staff and guests). We only stayed for a week but I can't wait to go back! I strongly suggest this resort for any future travels to Punta Cana! I miss zumba with Lilian and dancing and singing with Jack and Sonny and the boys already, so sad to leave them!

Room Tip: If you did want a bath tub there are none in the regular rooms but I do believe they are in the pref...

I tried it and its true. all in all a great time here is one thing to consider
