Traveling with Apple Vacations made this trip very relaxing. Carlos, the Apple Vacations concierge at this hotel, checked in with us throughout our stay to ensure that our expectations were met. When determining whether to stay at this expansive resort, please take in to consideration that it was built in 1992. The resort is very large but very accessible. Most importantly, there was never a moment when we felt uneasy or unsafe.

The beach and pool were great. We saw staff cleaning the pool at the end of each day as well as in the morning. The shade umbrellas scattered around the beach and pool were perfect for lounging and napping. The only caveat with these umbrellas is the fact that they were occupied quickly and we needed to get to the pool early to find a seat under them. There was ample shade under the mature trees around the pool and beach as well, so there was always an alternative. Sales representatives for day excursions and jewelry vendors were easily diverted.

The resort rooms and main buildings have been updated and are kept clean by the housekeeping staff. In our experience, the housekeeping staff visited our room each day. We were also able to easily request a convenient time for housekeeping to clean and replenish our fridge with water, beer, and soda.

As a traveler to an impoverished country, aside from the tourist industry, it is important to realize that great service and hard work should be acknowledged with gratuity. Employees at this resort work hard each day to make sure that they are providing the highest level of service to guests.

My husband and I speak a moderate amount of Spanish, but slang in the DR is not European Spanish. Try to speak the language and staff will embrace your efforts. If this is still an issue for you, then download an app on your phone and use a translator. After all, many people in the United States ignorantly assert that everyone in our country should speak English. It is amusing to see reviews that state that staff at this resort in the DR as well as guests from Russia, France, and Spain should also speak English.

After dining at 3 of the a la carte restaurants (Gaucho, Pescador, and Bella Pasta), my husband and I decided that the buffets were the better route. Under normal circumstances we would not promote eating at a buffet, but this was the exception. At Hispanolia, here was a variety of options including fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, cheese, and breads during dinner service. At lunchtime the beachfront restaurant served delicious paella and fresh tacos. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit smoothies, omelets, bacon, crepes, and a cinnamon roll bar. The coffee, espresso, and cappuccino were fantastic.

Drinks at the bars throughout the resort were plentiful, potent, and delicious. Try the Sammy Sosa and the mojitos.

Sanchez the bartender in the main lobby is a great man. Carlos the Apple concierge was welcoming and accommodating to any requests we made during our stay.

Room Tip: Room 383 was just far enough from the parties at the main building to be quiet at night and steps aw...

For the second year in a row we vacationed at the Bavaro Princess during Spring Break. What an amazing resort. You are treated like family and you never want to leave. We had an amazing time again this year. The service goes above and beyone your expectations. The staff at all the restaurants and even the ground and room maintenance staffs were great. We will definitely return to this report for many years in the future. We spoke to many other vacationers at this resort who have been to other resorts in the Dominican Republic. They all agreed that this was the best resort and it actually had the best staff and grounds. You get the most bang for your buck here and they really have amazing programs daily to occupy the children while the parents are on the beach, in the pools or just relaxing on vacation. I give this resort a 10. It is very chic and you will feel special during your stay here.

Spent in the hotel conference for its customers in February 2013. 70 people came to the group, we conducted a registration conference hall, greeted each guest a welcome drink and coconut milk. The employee reception Alla had a good presentation, spoke about the services of the hotel and shown on the slide where it is (the area is very large and it was true.) Despite the large group, settled all within 20-30 minutes. For that they thank you (still recall with horror as two years ago, we settled for about two hours at another hotel).
Meals are quite varied, always something for everyone to choose. I agree that for dinner in the main restaurant a lot of people and noisy, but you can also dine at the a la carte restaurant, where calm and do not need to pre-record, but be prepared to wait for 30-40 minutes, until the yield entree. Of the five restaurants like: fish, meat, and Japanese.
The rooms are very big and comfortable, the rooms have everything you need (pleased iron and ironing board, and coffee maker).
The territory is huge, beautiful and well-groomed, runs through train.
The beach is great: clean, a good entry into the ocean without algae, large and broad waterfront (walking along the beach to the Russian shop for 20-25 minutes, were other hotel beach there is less and narrow), free sun bed can always be found, and all interested from our group.
All day entertainment staff, on arrival was given a little book, which described all entertainment included in the price, if the event to attend, we will be busy all day, there's even a Spanish language courses and test dive in the pool.
Staff friendly and willingly responded to various requests.
Especially thank Alla at the reception, which helps out a lot. And also thanks to Wendy, she has organized all of our joint activities on site.
I can safely recommend this hotel to stay for all categories, everyone can find something for themselves. Well, if someone has to take a large group, you can choose this hotel, they can adequately organize and business part and rest.

This March, I travelled to the Bavaro Princess, and I brought my mom. Here is what to expect, in point form:
- extremely courteous staff ... Even though everything is done slowly ie. Dominican time, it appears that staff have been retrained as customer device has genuinely improved!
- fantastic beach with chairs for all
- daily activities run by overworked animation team... But they are always smiling!
- your choice of restaurants with no reservations required... But understand that you may have to wait to be seated
- platinum club upgrade that allows you to make reservations and visit other resorts
- evening shows have improved tremendously since I was there 2 years ago
- transportation to casino... They have penny slot machines for the "non gambler" all of the way up to poker tournaments
- transportation to the disco at the resort next door called Arieto... It's fun... You need to try it once at least... Very safe but drink before you go as the staff there will charge you ridiculous amounts of money- even for soda
- Dominican market night where sellers bring their wares... It is the same as going across the street to the stores.. Be sure to haggle for prices and don't be afraid to walk away
- at check in, be sure to request the appropriate # of beds in your room
- all suites have been upgraded to have a spa tub and glasses in shower... Location of spa tub is somewhat in the bedroom though, so ours was not used

I have been to Punta Cana 16 times, and will return to this resort again. There's not much to do outside of the resort but if you like to relax on a gorgeous beach and be fed decent meals, this is the right place for you.
If you have specific questions, let me know :)

We recently stayed at the Bavaro Princess over March break. We had such a fantastic experience from the moment we arrived. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. We were Platinum status and our room was lovely, clean and spacious! 1 king sized bed, a pull out sofa and a cot (that was really more like a twin bed), a fabulous jetted tub, double sinks and a great big shower. It was very clean and the housekeeper did little extras every day....in fact the kids couldn't wait to get back to the room to see what she had done! The food was very good, with a large variety. The steakhouse El Rancho was excellent. What made the trip though was the people, they were so friendly! From Caesar and Wende at the buffet to Anairis in the kids club, to the entire Entertainment crew, we could not have felt more welcomed and at home. The nightly entertainment was fun and family friendly. We cannot wait to go back next year! I honestly cannot say enough of the resort and the people.....it was absolute paradise!

Room Tip: Go platinum! Room is great and the balcony have fabulous muskoka lounge chairs. You also get access...

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and its truly a beautiful area. The Bavaro Princess was a disaster.... The food is awful, no, it's beyond awful.
My only other complaint is the layout of the resort. It's laid out over 96 acres with the beach and main hotel on opposite ends. You will walk at least several miles everyday.

This resort is just fantastic. People are great, friendly and very kind (although not many of them can speak English). Our room was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything that we needed. Food was great too. they had a good variety. Thier meat was generaly abit hard and chewy, but chiken was delicious. Nightly entertainment show were amazing. the dancers are truly stars and so friendly and happyto take pictures with people. The whole experience was better and beyond what I had in mind and that was because of some negetive reviews that few people left. I guess these people don't understand that a five star hotel in Dominican can not be compared witha five star in New York!!!
The only thing that bothered us for one night only was the bad odor from the pond the is located halfway between lobby and the villas! we asked to change our room and we were told that they would have a room for us next day, but we didn't bother anymore since we didn't want to pack and unpack again and we didn't have the smell anymore.

Room Tip: Ask for renovated rooms and don't waste your money buying platinum club!
