The hotel complex is huge but the suites are like small condos. Very nice rooms, always clean.
The buffet is in the average. I did not try a restaurant but I heard from other clients that the japanese is excellent.
The staff is great!! From the gardener to the barman, they all salute you with a big smile.
The beach is always kept clean. The view is breathless and the water is perfect.
I went to Saona island. The guide, Fausto Number 2 (they are two Fausto), was amazing with his information during the 90 minutes bus ride. Once you get there, you either take a speed boat or a catamaran to get to the island. It is one or the other in the morning and the other one at the end of the day. I got the speed boat in the morning. You stop in the blue lagoon wich was breathtaking. I was in 3 feet of water at 500 feet from the shore with starfishes. The island was nice but the beach just got hit by Isaac so it was full of corals and shells. The catamaran is best in the afternoon because of the openbar aboard :)
The thing I liked the most at the hotel was the beach and pool area for the animation. They were unbelievable. They work all day for us dancing their %$& off. They give you a show every single night at the lobby. Thanks to:Juan Carlos, Lenny,Alex, Melvin, Claudio and Michel. You made this trip unforgetable.

I went with my parents to the Bavaro Princess from 7-28-12 to 8-4-12. This resort spans a lot of space, which is nice because you feel like you're in a secluded community. Maybe not like the Darma Project in Lost, but it feels pretty cool. There is a diverse ecological system ranging from lush trees to different passive birds and animals roaming around. The beach is always the highlight of the resort and it makes the place shine. The sand is soft and white while the water soothes the eyes with its turquoise.

The food on the resort was on par above average. The buffets have an open air setup which can cause you to sweat if there isn't a breeze. This resort tries to spice up its offerings by providing 6 different restaurants to choose from for dinner. There's a steakhouse, seafood, Italian, Japanese Tappanayaki, 2 international buffets, and an Asian restaurant. Please arrive early or else the line to get into any sit down restaurant could be well over 30 mins. I recommend the seafood and steakhouse restaurants. The choice of beef and seafood were cooked fresh and flavorful.

The rooms were set up like a suite. They looked a bit dated, but had a nice Caribbean feel to them. The colors were live and vibrant, but the structure was showing its age.

As long as you temper your expectations, you should have a wonderful time. There is one big pool with a swim up bar, and one smaller pool for children and families. If you want some exercise, you can walk all around the resort to see the birds and vegetation. As long as you take your time to relax, this resort will meet all your needs. If you want a 5 star super luxurious experience, then this place isn't for you. My parents had a great time soaking in the sun and waves and that's what we were looking for. On one last note, there is no free internet, but you can access free wifi from the Royal Holiday building if you talk to a royal holiday representative. I do not recommend their sales pitches, but free internet is always a luxury.

this was our first time in the Dominican Republic. the scenery was beautiful at this resort, with plenty of peacocks and wild birds roaming the grounds everywhere which made it extra special. the suites where good, we have been to better. the maids always did a great job in maintaining the rooms, so we treated them to lots gifts and tips every morning. they made us feel welcomed.

the buffet was great, with sections of the buffet like Caribbean, American and Italian sections among others. most nights they would have very fancy deserts specially hand made at your table, the desert chefs always made us laugh and blend in with our family with our pictures.

the ocean view was gorgeous, with breath taking views. open beaches with private sections to each resort which made it accessible to walk the whole beach for miles each way across miles of other resorts and meeting other Canadians from other resorts.

Drinks where abundant and very accessible everywhere on the resort. plenty of entertainment. beach party at night was awesome.

the only problems we at with this resort was our suite was not cool enough, our AC was not working too good but our other families suite was cold. so its a matter of getting the right suite. could use a little more food at the beach cantina( just burgers and hot dogs get boring fast). in the section in the middle of the resort which is a protected section of forest that you can walk through to get to the other half of the resort is a strange smell of methane which can be a bit strong sometimes( you only smell it through that section and not where the suites are) recommend walking on the outside of the center of the forest or hold your breath while walking through there. it smells like septic going through there. we had a family of 5 with 2 suites and only 2 drinks per day would be put in our fridges, which leaves us to argue who gets to drink lol please if you see more people staying then add more drinks TY :)

Room Tip: pay the little extra to be on the beach end of the resort. you also get a flat screen TV, you are walking distance to the beach, restaurants, buffet.

The hotel was very nice. It is like a small community onto itself, which was wonderful. I like the grounds - very beautiful and lots of vegetation. I saw flowers and fruit trees, I have not seem since leavin the Caribbean myself, 20 years earlier. I love the open concept of the hotel, where the lobby gives the feel of one big open living room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to have a nice public, but secluded vacation, where you can walk and discover nature. The staff was also very friendly, nice and helpful and the service was excellent.

Your first impression of this property is Wow, what a great property for the price. The grounds are very nicely kept. This is a huge property. Be prepared to walk a lot, or wait a lot for the shuttle to pick you up and pray it is not full when it gets there. My room was nice and spacious with a living room, bedroom, which is a few steps up from the living room area. There is a small area off the side of the living room with a small frig and coffee maker. They updated the room with a triangle shaped jacuzzi. There was a shower located in front of the commode. The water would get all over the floor when you showered. The air conditioner was never cold enough. Make sure you bring your towel key when going to the beach or pool if you want a towel. They will send you back to your room to get it, which could take a long time. Most of the restaurants were hard to get a reservation. That left the buffet, which was not to good. This could be a great property if they would improve the food, service and also need more English speaking staff.
