Everyone was so nice ---especially Emmanuel! We are planning on going back in May 2013!
Wireless internet in the lobby was fast.
Maid service was great!
We are privilege members and we love it, its worth every penny --they drive us around with the golf carts --after 9pm we had to use the bus service however that was still fine because the bus came fast!

Didn't really like the resort or felt it was "luxury" when I went in the summer. I posted a bad review and was immediately approached by the manager there and even got a few hateful emails. I stand by my first review. There WERE roaches and the beach WAS full of seaweed. I forgot a drawer full of 6 bathing suits and coverups. I immediately (4 hrs after I left) called this manager who was so concerned about my review earlier. He assured me he had my stuff and I arranged for fedex to pick it up. I got half of the stuff back which I later found out was admitted by one of the staff there! Thank goodness I never travel with expensive gear so it wasn't that bad but really? They returned the one with the tag on it which I quickly took back for a refund. They obviously wanted to prove a point and they did. Don't trust the staff and if you don't like the place, wait until you get home unless you want to get called to the "principal's office". As for the email I received urging me to use my real name, ARE YOU CRAZY. Who does that? So now you can send hateful notes to my house? This is my experience and I have a right to tell people. For the money, I would have taken a cruise. Happy vacations!

We appreciate that you take the time to send us your comments in regards to your experience during your last vacation with us.

In relation to your opinion about the cleanliness of our premises, let us state that we follow a strict program of cleaning and constant monitoring of all quality standards in our hotel. In fact, the health and welfare of our guests are our top priorities.

We would like to inform you that the presence of marine algae on the beach is derived from a natural process. Being the beach one of our greatest entertainment for customers, we work hard to keep it in optimum state for enjoyment. We are proud to have recently won the "Blue Flag", which is an international certification awarded to beaches that meet strict criteria regarding the quality, safety and environmental information provided to employees and visitors.

For your information, all our personnel is well checked every time they are coming in or getting out of the Hotel, as there is a specific staff entrance. In fact they are not authorized to get in or out any bag, object or valuables, in order to avoid items to be taken away. Please be advised that our Security Department operates 24/7 in order to guarantee the security and the well-being of our distinguished customers.

We have contacted you in private asking for your contact details in order to address you directly by our Ambar Hotel Manager, and this way analyze each of your observations. We appreciate each guest´s feedback, as it enables us to continue improving and providing better service for our guests.

We stayed in Bahia Principe Ambar for one week 10/27/12-11/3/12. We had an awesome time, the beach was amazing, the food was very tasty, the room was cozy and very clean, the staff was great (especially Roberto). There was plenty of room at the pool, the bar opened at 10 am serving very testy drinks. The bartenders at the swim up bar were extremely nice and friendly. Overall we had an awesome vacation and highly recommend this resort.

This was an excellent 5 star all inclusive resort
Fantastic menu selection wonderful service
Corner rooms in deluxe are a must
Tip don't be cheap you want quality don't pinch your pennies

Room Tip: Portifino restaurant is an a la cart dream Check them all out the micheal Jackson and circus shows...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ambar Nov 2 through Nov 9, 2012. I read the reviews everyday for months before we went on our vacation. I can honestly say we would go back in a heart beat. We have been to canun and the bahamas, but the principe complex has so much more to offer. Where esle can you go and enjoy more than one resort? the room, very nice and clean. food, wonderful a little bit of everything! the pool beautiful! the people amazing! and special thanks to Thomas Newton (concerge), very educated man (ask him anything), Murphy Villa excellent bartender at the lobby bar, Roberto the butler and Pablo the door man...all smiles and kindness. If you like to watch American sports, well it's kind of hard to see any, but there is a sports bar (doesn't open till 6) so Sunday football is out during the day. You will not meet nicer people than those at the sports bar, Leonida the bartender, and the 2 wonderful "all smiles" waitresses Yessenia & Saria! Treat the employees with respect and they will go above and beyond. There is a little bit of a language barrier, but with a little bit of explaining they will do their best to answer. I personally found this kind of fun. As the reviews say they will bug you everyday about going to their lecture, meeting, whatever...just keep saying NO, and take your room phone off the hook, because they call everyday. As far as the casino...LOL, small! but for 12 dollars (one way) or so you can get a cab to the Hard Rock Casino...real casino, just like Vegas! 10 minute ride. If you choose this resort, you won't be dissapointed. Gracias Ambar!

Room Tip: we were on the ground floor by the pool, room 60112, no complaints!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in June 2012 and didn't want to come home!

Everything about the hotel was lovely. Our room was spotless and the staff cleaned and restocked it every day.

The grounds and pool area were kept very tidy and we seen gardeners every day which I have never seen at a hotel before.

Food was great we tried a few of the A La Carte restaurants our favourites were the mexican, italian (try the lasagne) and the grills one.

We found a lot of the guests were quite rude to the staff and forgot their manners! That was the only part of our stay we didn't like. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and they remebere your face as the holiday got on.

We stayed by the pool for the whole holiday and you did have to get a bed with a parasol quite early, some guests would move every bed around them and push them in between others so there wasnt much room. Also we could never get to the in pool bar as guests would swim up and sit there for the whole day swigging.


As I said earlier our biggest gripe were some of the other guests. The hotel and staff itself were great!

If you are thinking of going on a day trip we recommend the bavaro splash, what a great day it was.

The hotel was very big,but once you found your way around it was excellent.You can have it quiet or lively it is up to you.The beach is stunning.The italien restaurant is out of this world,nothing is too much for all the staff.
