“Misrepresented as a snorkeling expedition”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

If you're interested in snorkeling or seeing marine life in its natural setting -- avoid this tour. It's a 4 hour booze cruise with a little 30-minute stopoff to see the sharks and rays -- which are in a pen. Two nurse sharks and half-dozen manta rays, which are penned up for the tourists to swim with and get pricey photo opporunities with. The reef is unremarkable, the same as around any beach in the area, and the staff feeds white bread to the fish to get them to jump. The "natural basin" just seemed to be like any other beach in the area. Free drinks and little ham sandwiches and cookies, not even a full meal out of the deal. Plastic cups and wrappers were flying into the ocean off the boat constantly. Very non-eco-friendly.

Definitely not worth the $100 I paid. Okay if you're interested in a very undemanding morning of drinking and boating, I guess. And what's a booze cruise without a lot of hot women, anyway? It was all middle-aged tourists and families. 9:00am, just a tad early for booze cruising anyway.

Good Afternoon!

Thank you for your visit at The Marinarium.
Our excursion starts off with 2 separate snorkeling tours, the first group lasts 30 min for beginners & the second group 45 minutes for good swimmer.
We have about 8-12 nurse sharks in each aquarium, and about the 10 stingrays. Usually the sharks are hiding out in the corners with their families, since the corners of the aquarium offer them shelter. The pictures with the stingrays are no mandatory and we take them only if the client wants too, at a cost of 15$ . The natural pool, is a little different the beach, because it’s like a hot springs on the middle of the ocean, where the water still reaches your waist, even though your remarkably far from the shore.
We offer an open bar after snorkeling, since it’s a 3,5 hour tour, we do not provide lunch, but snacks, which includes, fruits, cookies cheese sandwiches and ham and cheese sandwiches. We open our doors to every kind of public , it's a family friendly tour, that's why they are no hot Women! If you are looking for un pure snorkeling tour, I recommend you our Reef Explorer excursion, were you can swim and snorkel for 3,5 hours , we have 11 activities for you and you plan your own excursion you do what you want when you want, no alcohol include and only for adults.

Hope we could help!

“A nice relaxing day”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Our second trip to Excellence Punta Cana and decided to take an side trip with Marinarium Excursions. We were picked up at about 8:15 am for our van ride to Cap Cana. After a meet and greet with juice, coffee and snacks we boarded a catamaran for a half day cruise. Along the way we stopped for some scubadiving. About half an hour. Down the coast abit more then we turned around for a return ride. We stopped again for a walk in the ocean and floating bar. Very nice. On board we had an open bar as well as snacks, music etc. Our hosts were very good speaking multiple languages so no one was left out during the safety instructions. Special thanks go to Francisco and Guibert. Back to our starting point for a lobster a late lunch. Wine or other drinks were offered as well as a nice salad with half longistino. Then there was a choice of steak, chicken or lobster. We both had the lobster that came with a fish entre. The lobster is grilled so was a little dry but still tasty. Fish was under cooked. Desert was also served. We were then put or a bus for a short ride to a private beach with the softest white sand in the Dominican. More drinks were served. About 5:00 pm we boarded buses for the return to our hotel. Back about 6:20 in time for the Superbowl party. The trip is quite enjoyable but a little expensive. Weather wasn't the best but so what. Cap Cana is a private gated area catering to the rich. Nice to visit something different.

“only ok”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

the start they tell you hints and tips in about 6 different languages seem's to last forever, they 1st take you out for some snorkling although fun,but the marine life is poor, swam with sharks though..then you go along the coast which was better music playing and drinks flowing, they then stop for a splash about in an ocean pool with more drinks going a plenty, this is when the sun came out as it was rather cloudy, its better when the sun is shining, all in all worth the money just poor snorkling but the crew were great

“Valentino, Angel and the rest of the crew were great!!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

We had a blast on the snorkeling tour! The waves were a little rough that day so the swimming was a bit difficult. The crew in the water was very helpful and the views of the rays and sharks were amazing and definitely worth the effort! The cruise and party after snorkeling was a lot of fun as well! We stopped in a very beautiful and calm area for some additional swimming, dancing and partying. We will take this excursion again! Tom (Senior Roboto LOL!)

“Henry and Ernesto were awesome”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

There was A LOT of waiting around. Like half of it was WAITING. Waiting to drive there, waiting to board, waiting to take off, waiting to get to the marinarium. The snorkeling was VERY minimal. It was short, like 30 mins, and included a tiny fenced-in area that you could explore. The "party boat" afterwards was really fun though! Henry totally made it worth it and kept the beers flowing. My only complaint was they only served these teeny tiny sandwiches, and only one, when you're going all day under the sun you want a little more food with your beer. Drinks are only rum and coke and beer. For how much this excursion cost, I expected A LOT MORE snorkeling, food, and fun. If you want more snorkeling, more fun, less waiting and less party boat, this isn't your excursion.
