Captain Cook was recommended to us by an employee at our resort. We took a cab to and from the restaurant, which we recommend because parking can be tough. The restaurant is small, open-air and right on the beach. The food is fresh and very good. We had a variety of seafood as well as soup and beef. Our entire family, which includes 3 teenagers, enjoyed the food. The waiter did not speak a lot of English, but was very friendly. We enjoyed the dogs on the beach and the cats in the restaurant. We would recommend Captain Cook if you are looking for a good, local restaurant in Punta Cana.

Fun place to go for a meal, off of the resorts. All of the seafood looked and tasted very fresh. Short walk down the beach from the resorts.

Try the Sangria, best I have ever had.

We saw the pictures of this place on Tripadvisor, so decided to try it. The atmosphere is nothing great, but the food is pretty good. Would go again.

We have visited Capt Cook's on the beach front at punta cana many times over the past twenty years. Always hard to find and always hard place to park a car but worth the effort. This visit went early 5:30pm as wanted to be back on road to La Romana before pitch dark. Waiter friendly but no English and did not know menu. End result two of us got our entrees and two did not but we had good fried calimari for apps and they got some salad and helped us with a generous two person paella which was good. New waiter adjusted bill so no big foul and no damage. Probably we were ahead of main staff. This little area is overwhelmed with tourist shops and vendors but beach and activities still make it an interesting stop. Worth the visit
