I was extremely happy with the hotel and the property as a whole. The beaches were just as beautiful as everybody said, and the suites that we stayed in were fantastic! They were brand new and very clean.
I was a bit concerned after reading a few of the reviews on here regarding the food/cleaning staff/property etc, but our honeymoon couldn't have gone any smoother!
We did tip each day, but if thats what it takes to get as much bottled water and beer as we needed than so be it!
There was a lot of walking that was done, but there was a train that went around the property if you chose not to walk.
As expected, the buffets were your standard all inclusive buffet, nothing special - however the ala carte restaurants were FANTASTIC! Be sure to go to the Japanese, French and Gormet. Do not waste your time on the Brazilian, there are so many other great options. For lunch, we lived on the brick oven pizza, it was delicious and nothing else really looked good at the buffet.
I would HIGHLY recommend the couples massage on the beach at sunset. It was absolutely amazing - the best way to end a honeymoon, so relaxing.
One thing that I was suprised about was the lack of American guests - there were maybe 10 - 15 couples that spoke English, which was actually kind of a nice change of pace.

OMG what can I say,we just love this place hubby and I were there from Sept 24th to Oct 1st and really it was so awesome. The weather was amazing every day and the hotel wonderful, the people are great the food very good, The Gourmet was where we would be most of the time, we did eat at The Bamboo, it was nice as well as the Japanese always good. The service from all staff members when needed was always with a smile. We were in block 57 this time with a swim-up, I absolutely love it, we would be in the pool as early as 8:30am and the water was clean and so so nice. The beach beautiful and we relaxed and had such a good vacation. Looking forward to going back....... A&D

Room Tip: Hubby and I always ask for the new section, it is farther from the beach but we find the rooms nicer and quieter.

my husband and I just returned from the royal suites turquesa on tues. We flew westjet from toronto.
I am a member of palladium addicts, and have been to the grand palladium in punta cana twice already, but this was a first for being in the royal suites (adult only) section

background. two mid forties. travelled over thirty times to dominican republic. We also have close canadian friends living there so we do leave resort

1) making requests via email prior to arriving. we had NO luck . I am sorry to say that this was the only disappointment. As it was low season we were hoping to upgrade to a swimout (requested by us...including the fact we understood the cost, and were more than agreeable) Unfortunately NO tour operator from canada offers this room so we could not just book it..we did the next best thing..we booked in the new section,, knowing the only upgrade we would have to pay for was main floor. NOPE. also requested a certain building. NOPE. Promises were made upon arrival that they would be able to do it the next day for us. NOPE. was not going to waste any more time trying.

2) room itself. BEAUTIFUL ...clean..four poster bed..jacuzzi (single :-( seperate shower stall and toilet stall with frosted glass doors, not visable from bed area,, but not private..EVERYTHING could be heard and worse... lol..we are comfy married couple so not a big deal, but for some it could be (this room catagory was the royal junior deluxe)

3) pools. wonderful. swimout suites has its own bar (not in pool) lots of bali beds and palapas, and is very quiet. Main pool ,, swimup bar, lots of shaded palapas and excellent service. service of drinks to your chair. mini pizzas and fruit kabobs delivered each day around pool and also on beach,,danny and delores took VERY good care of us there!!

4) beach .
as always the beach is wonderful. section is cordoned of for royal suites but really this is the only area that you will see kids,, they are on the beach to the left and also in the ocean. no problems though.. lots of peaceful adult only space with a watchful security guy lol

5) food.
room service was so so..hubby had a bit of a tummy issue one night and ordered soup.. good and very hot. another night he ordered club sandwich, kinda soggy and cold fries yuk.

royal gourmet YUM eggs benny for breakfast, surf and turf for dinner, or red snapper or steak..it was all so good with the exception of one pasta hubby ordered. it was blah and horrible, but they took it back and brought him something else.

Chantrelle. VERY good. only went the one night and had the chataubriand for two. very nice meal.

service and food was soooooo good in these two adult only restaurants that we declined visiting any of the other choices on the larger part of complex

we did do the sports bar one evening..played some pool, ate chicken wings and onion rings lol...next time we are bringing a bottle bbq sauce..wings were breaded and very good,,but no sauce for them

also went to hemmingways one night for a few nightcaps. The piano player was very good and a nice addition as he was not there on our last trip.

Lobby and staff

honestly the best reception staff we have encountered. did not run into ONE rude person. nice bar,,,excellent service (ruth is a gem at this bar) snacks mid day (calamari, chicken chunks, cold cuts cheese and buns) and the guys that shuttle you on their golf carts anywhere u want to go! fantastic service

all in,, this was a fantastic holiday. we are looking at booking our two week feb getaway, and this is def a possiblity to return to

my husband and i enjoyed this property 100% the only down fall was the chair hogs - had to get up very early to reserve chair at the private section of the beach - we had a swim up room and it was spectacular - will return - a bit expensive but was worth it

Room Tip: we were in the swim up great for someone who likes a morning dip or a break from the sun late in the day with the option to swim

The Royal Suites is the nicest resort that my wife and I have ever stated at. The service is incredible, the beach is wonderful, the food in the a la carte resteraunts excellent! The buffet food was good, but nothing like the a la carte. We stayed in a "swim up" suite that was great. Being able to walk out the sliding glass doors to a private deck and semi-private pool is very nice! Everything is within walking distance, but there is a shuttle that constantly tours the whole resort, we also rented bikes for a day to tool around.
