“Some pictures of traveller's photos are not actually from Cueva de las Maravillas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

I am the architect who was in charge of the development of Cueva de las Maravillas Park. It is a great pleasure to read so many positive reviews of the attraction. We finished the project 12 yeasr ago and still the cave amaze myself. I am happy that it stills work well in terms of accesibility and conservation.
One thing, some travellers photos are not from Cueva de Las Maravillas, but actually from Cueva Los Tres Ojos in the Capital City of Santo Domingo. There isn't any natural lake in Cueva de las Maravillas, is not a cenote, like Cueva de los Tres Ojos ( which is also amazing bit a very different project in terms of conservation). There is only a tiny artificial pond inside Cueva de Las Maravillas, it was built to recover some of the humidity that mught be taken out in intensive touristic visits.
Anyway, thanks for your comment. Make me proud.

“very cool caves”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

So these caves are really cool. The art on the walls is pretty basic but still interesting. For some reason they dont allow photography in the caves. The stilagtites and stalagmites are very impressive. Make sure to on check out the iguanas.

“Educational and interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

The caves were very nice. My son enjoyed the trek to the caves with the iguanas along the trail. The grounds were very well kept and our guide very friendly. I do wish that we would have been allowed to take photos.

“Great time in the Cave of Marvels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2014

I had read positive reviews on Trip Advisor about this cave and thought we would check it out when we got to the hotel. We stayed at GBP Bouganville and the cave is probably only a five or ten minute drive from there.

We arranged from the hotel for a cab over one morning and the cab driver stayed while we toured the cave for a little over an hour. There were quite a few school tours there when we visited: all well behaved young people with uniforms. We took a guided tour through the cave. I thought it was very well done. Very easy to navigate and so much care and thought had obviously gone into opening this up to the public. Our guide was very fluent in English and knowledgeable about the history of the cave.

Afterwards, we were taken through the iguana farm. That was pretty cool too. The guide identified alot of the trees and vegetation on the above ground part of our tour.

We paid $10 each (US) for entrance to the cave and split the $25 cab fare. Very interesting and great value for your money and it did not take all day....we were home for lunch to spend the rest of the day at the beach.

“Do not miss!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

This cave was wonderful. It has great infrastructure that makes it pleasant and easy to visit. The views and the artwork in the cave are spectacular. The guide made a excellent job to explain to us the history of the cave and the significance of the artwork.
