“perfect spring break with golfing grandson”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Tip 1: Fly into La Romana airport minutes from hotel. Cab is easy to get.
Tip2: We took our 17 year old grandson who likes golf and got 1 Elite Suite Room. Reservations desk is prompt and service oriented. Suite room worked out well since it has a large bathroom: shower, spa tub and dressing area. There is a half bath in the living room area where the hotel supplied an extra bed. Room had 2 TV.s and two terraces. Service is very good and with golf carts supplied that makes it easy to get around. We got an extra one for $35 a day.
2: Take the all inclusive package. Food is very expensive. All menus including bar are clear about what is not covered, i.e.premium liquor. We drank wine (limited selection), rum punches and Jack Daniels. Sambucca after dinner was premium.
Service charges are included; food, and bar on your bill it's 10%. If you leave an additional 5% for anything do it in cash because it is subject to a tax if you add it to your bill .
3: It is easy to e-mail for golf reservations in advance. The boys played golf on three courses. They recommend that unless you are a low handicapper and don’t mind steep gulleys and inclines, skip the Dye Fore one!
I played doubles in tennis…Very easy because there are Hitters available. Pay them in cash. $15.00 an hr.
4. Concierge calls every day to see if there is anything you need.

Make dinner reservations in advance. Different hotel restaurant every night is fun. Ambience and service is good and there are many choices but the food is only fair. Le Cirque is one of their food managers, and even there, although the menus look great the execution needs work. Breakfast buffet is good and plenty of variety.
There is a coffee table for early risers at the restaurant.
6. There is wi-fi except for the tennis court and we had a problem at the beach. Although the pool is not heated there were plenty of swimmers.
We all had a great time and the extra cart was worth it since we were at different activities. The entire staff, no matter where you are on the property is very helpful and want to please.

Room Tip: a large Room and big bathroom is important to us so we took a suite. Well worth it. Ours overlooked...

Casa De Campo is fine. If you at looking for convenience.... This is NOT your spot. If you like room-service, this is NOT your spot, if you need to grab a "quick" much needed bottle of sun-screen, CDC is not your spot. If you simple want a giant coffee and a morning stroll, this is NOT you spot.

The staff is courteous, unless you are "all inclusive", then you better tip or forget about it. The "island time" thing is a understandable, but give me a break, CDC takes it to another level.

In fairness to CDC, we were there with an 11 month old. We had to do room-service 75% of time, our order was quick, but never accurate (probably a language thing), always over-cooked. We were told that the restaurants are VERY good. Especially at the Marina. So... In all fairness, we never got to go because the reservations were not available until 6pm. Plus the marina is far from the main hotel.

House keeping was excellent. They were very good. Very sweet. Plenty of water and towel service.

The beach is far too. However it is great once ou get there. If you are looking for a beach and pool type convince, think twice. The beach bathrooms are very clean. The restaurant "Beach Club" was good. There is a sur-charge for all-inclusive. Not sure why... Maybe because of the fish.

We asked for take-out, they said "no". We asked for to-go cups of coffee, nearly impossible.

Overall, seems like a nice place. We will not visit again. Review wise, I'm a bit harsh. Maybe too many Four-seasons under my belt... Sorry.

A week was not enough. We will return. If you like horses, golf, shooting and food this is a place to visit. Packed a swim suit and never put it on. Restaurants are good but found that room service was a cut above. Surprise menu came from the 19th hole at the pro shop, surf & turf burgers, lobster burger and a cheeseburger.......what a combo.
We were on an all inclusive package, great value.
Unlimited horseback riding was our main attraction.

Room Tip: We were in the hotel in the 100's, not as close to some of the others.

My family and I recently returned from our second stay at Casa De Campo. As an avid golfer whom has played many of the most popular courses in the Carribean and Mexico, I can say with certainty that Teeth of the Dog is as good as they come. The Links and Dye Fore are good compliments to the Teeth of the Dog and in similarly great condition. I must suggest you request Julio P for a caddie on your first day. The greens are very tricky, but he can read them like a book. As for the restaurants, we really enjoyed La Casita at the Marina, but all of our meals were great. The property was much busier than it was on our last visit, but the service was just as good as before. Everything is quite pricey, but if you choose the all-inclusive supliment than the prices are irrelevant. Flying in to La Romana made traveling in and out of Casa a breeze.

I just returned from the most wonderful vacation at Casa De Campo in the Dominican Republic. From the beach to the pool it was a great time. I opted for the all inclusive stay and i am glad i did. Everything i could have possibly wanted i could have without a thought to how much it would cast me at the end of my stay. The food was world class and we enjoyed every bite. The golf cart that comes with your room lets you decide where and when you want to go and return. There was no waiting for a shuttle or bus. get in your cart and go. beautiful beach, mountain views, and grounds. couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff was very accommodating and i found no great language barriers at all. I just told them what i needed as far as transfers to and from the airport and an excursion into town and at the appointed hour my ride was ready and waiting. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a world class resort that you can bring your family to or just a golf trip with some of the guys. either way you will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to when i can return. Hopefully it will not be too long.

Room Tip: I have yet to see a room i would not consider fantastic!!

Beautiful resort with delightful employees. Strong points--service and cleanliness. Weak points--food was average and activities a bit difficult to schedule. Five nights was a perfect stay for a family of 5; by day 6 I felt like I wanted to get off the resort but safety (off the resort) seems to be a concern. All inclusive option makes it easy, however, food prices seem very inflated to make you feel like you are getting your money's worth.

Golf carts are a fun way to get around. The faster electric carts shorten the ride times! Candela performance at Chavon was entertaining.

Room Tip: Elite suite on the second floor was spacious, however, there was early morning traffic noise due to...

Was here recently for a business meeting... perfect place for a meeting and can easily understand why people come here for vacation. A self-contained retreat that has everything (Golf, Beach, Marina, Stables, Polo, Skeet Shooting...) 7000 acres of gorgeous property.

We had an all inclusive package which let us enjoy the full experience without having to worry about cost. The breakfast and lunch location is gorgeous and serves delicious variety. The different restaurants for dinner were awesome.

Hanging with the upper echelon is a nice thing, but make sure you actually see a bit of the island as being whisked from the local La Romana Airport to the resort won't give you a sense of the rich island, just a wonderful vacation retreat.

Room Tip: Go for an upstairs room as the floors are tile.
