Owner description: The Cable Car Puerto Plata is located on the Mountain "Isabel de Torres", south of the beautiful city of Puerto Plata. At the top of the mountain, above a fortress is the statue of "Christ the Redeemer" with open arms gives the welcome to visitors. Take your photo with Christ, he put his hand on the head! During the visit they will enjoy wonderful views of the ocean and city, as well as beautiful gardens, since the mountain has been declared a Scientific Reserve for the wide variety of animal and plant species are found in it. And if you keep your eyes peeled, you can discover hidden caves that lead to springs and streams that flow into the mountain! While in Puerto Plata, do not miss the cable car, with its exotic natural beauty and extensive National Park.

Did this as part of the city tour in the afternoon (would strongly advise to stay clear of the city tour) and it was amazing! The views are stunning, well worth the journey up, and the only thing I have to mention is when you get to the top and do the token poses like the statues, it's a shame the building beneath it is full of rubbish gift shops where your hounded! Otherwise it would have been 5*!

This was part of a city tour and next time I'm in Puerto Plata I would like to take this tour separately. Arrived & left the mountain in a cable car. Views were astounding & would like to have learned a little more about the history. I disliked being hounded by retailers to purchase their wares. I personally am more likely to buy if I'm left on my own.

This was a very uplifting to the soul tour, please ask for Peter for your tour and you will get your money's worth! He was very thorough and patient when we all wanted to take pictures and he stopped and enlightened us all on the native and imported plants and trees in the garden. It's up on top of a mountain and you have to take a cable car up so if you're afraid of heights you might miss out on this beauty.

This attraction is well worth the money spent. The tram ride to the top is incredibly steep and quite a thrill. The statue of Christ at the top is breathtaking. I'd go again in a heartbeat!

We had a good visit on April 6, 2013. It was clear going up in the cable car and clear when we got to the top. The view is spectacular. The garden trails are long and steep at times. If you have difficulty walking far or climbing stairs, it might be best to stroll around the monument area. After a while the clouds/fog came and we could see absolutely nothing, but it passed and we were able to get more pictures again.

We were not bombarded by anyone to purchase there wares. We said no and they did not bother us. We did not do this as an excursion. We got a taxi and guy came with us. We were thankful he did; he gave us the history about Mount Isabel de Torres and we like it. We paid a reasonably price for four of us; other places are charging the same price individually.

The cable ride and the view were pretty much the highlight of the tour. We enjoyed the history also. Had a great time.
