We spent there 18 days. The staff is very friendly and helpful (Eric from the reception is the most optimistic man I've met there) - they gave us tips on what to do and how to reach some places on the island,
Rooms, beds and bathrooms are big. We were in block 1, which is not renovated but very clean. The only drawback was too soft mattress.
The pool is huge and nice.
And the food is amazing! Varied choice - you won't be bored! Yummy! There are additional 3 restaurants caribbean, mexican and brazilian (the last one was my favourite!)
Highly recommend staying there!

Not a good experience, after a 12 hour delay it took an hour to get through reception and the given room in block 4, was damp, musty, outdated and not well cleaned. Although we complained, we was not given a suitable exchange for 4 days and only because the air conditioning unit was leaking profusely and our great grand son had visited our room and slipped, banging his head.

Although Thomsons brochures advertise a casino and nightclub, they where closed. The weekends from Friday lunch to Sunday evening was inundated with locals, meaning the pools where crowded and it was impossible to eat comfortably in the canteen (main restaurant) and bar queues where horrendous.

We will not return to this Hotel

The Thomson rep may as well not have been there, as he couldent solve any problems.(he was good at taking your money for the organised trips)

Good points, the speciality restaurants where good and the beach was nice and private, apart from the weekends.

Would not go to this Hotel again.

Myself and partner stayed here for 2 weeks in April. Everything was just spot on. Yeah the rooms are slightly dated but they are kept clean & tidy every day. The buffet resturant - lots to choose from and good theme nights. The A La Carte Restaurants...well they were just excellent !
In Manchester City we would pay anything upto £100 for 2 meals. If we return to the Domincan, we shall come back to this hotel resort for sure. If anyone moans about this resort then they should stay at home. Well done Be Live !!

Room Tip: Get the 1st floor rooms if you can - Less noise

Prior to writing this review I gave the hotel management multiple opportunities to respond and offer compensation for my horrible experience. They chose to send a canned response that did not address any of my issues.

Arrived a day late due to airline cancellation - had to contact the hotel 3 times and Travelocity 2 times to ensure I still had a room despite the fact that the entire stay was paid in full in advance. Both Travelocity and hotel refuse to refund the prepaid night lost.

FOOD POISONING - contracted horrible food poisoning while I was there, visiting the on-resort doctor which was a great convenience but was in my room for three days. Hotel refuses to compensate for the doctor's expense or lost days.
INAPPROPRIATE ADVANCES BY HOTEL PORTER - since I didn't report while I was there the hotel will do nothing. SINGLE FEMALE TRAVELERS don't book here, clearly this hotel doesn't take your personal safety seriously.

CLEANLINESS AT THE POOL - over the weekend the guest roster soars as locals join the resort, fantastic to experience the true culture but NOT RELAXING, there is yelling, screaming, the pool is filled with children in clothing. The weekend I was there garbage was littered everywhere, cigarette butts, discarded cups, chicken bones, which I brought to the attention of the staff but there was no urgency in cleaning it up, took hours.

BEDDING is hard as a rock, very uncomfortable and unrestful sleep.

Sadly, I wanted to leave a better review, the entertainment staff make the resort, the housekeeping is great, the food selections, despite my bad experience, were good. I won't be returning.

We flew premium on the Dreamliner that was well worth the money .
Transfer from airport was very quick and check in was fast but no welcome drink this was a first not to have one. Porter takes you and your bags to your room witch takes no time really the room was basic but it work another first was having to pay for the safe in the room. Complex is clean the pool is very nice and lots of sun beds but beds in the shade are limited the beach is ok but the sea was really ruff. The buffet restaurant was ok not much choice but could always find something the al a cart we tried the gourmet and Brazilian .
But be we're of the weekend the hotel lets lots of locals in and they tend to take over the bars an pool they push in and are just pains there arrive mid morning Friday and start to leave after lunch Sunday

We have just returned from a 2 week fantastic holiday at this hotel and all I can say is a big Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful holiday this hotel was brilliant cant wait to come back, everyone was so helpful and caring at the hotel and made our holiday so special could not praise this hotel enough once again Thank You so much hope to be back again soon.

After our visit for 2 weeks last September, we said we would return and we are - on the 7th Sept for 2 more lovely weeks... have followed the comments and once again very mixed. Still to the opinion some people live in a dream world, this is not an expensive holiday so you get what you pay for, if we have the same treatment as last year we will be very happy. We are quite fortunate to travel several times a year so our stays are varied, but we enjoyed this, hence the return. I especially like the comments on the reception - no one seems in a rush, IT'S CARRIBEAN TIME, no rush, back in England some of us want to take a leaf out of their book and chill out.
