We had already found out about Yasika before we went on holiday and we were not disappointed. You have to do this whilst in the Dominican Republic. My husband has a fear of heights but was able to complete all 8 lines. The instructors are fantastic and very helpful. You receive full instruction before you begin. The feeling of doing this is incredible and must not be missed.
We intend to return to Dom Rep and will do Yasika again as it was so much fun.
It is easily by far the best tourist trip in this area.
This place was extremely professional and very safety conscious. My friend and I enjoyed an open air bus ride up into the beautiful mountains of the Dominican Republic to our destination. The zip lining was comfortable and set up nicely for beginners. Instruction where given to us very well in English and you were not confused on the do’s and dont's of zip lining. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to try something new. After the first few lines you have the hang of it , and the experience becomes relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. This is a great value for the money and excellent for tourist from other countries that speak little Spanish but can speak English. Thanks for making my vacation a good one.
I enjoyed this adventure very much..i had so much fun I can do it over and over again. It was my first time zip lining, I was a little nervous on the first line after that I was able to enjoy the view. Not only these guys work hard to make sure you have fun but safety was their main concern. They will explain everything you need to know before you zip line. When I go back to DR I will do this again. If you are planning to visit Puerto Plata, please do this adventure, you will not regret it!
We did zip line adventure at the end of May 2008.
This was one of our favourite things we have experienced while in DR.
We were picked up from our hotel in early morning hrs (round 8am) - there was only 5 of us and it was great! ( us 3 and a couple from hotel next door).
We took this brilliant drive to get to the top of the mountain where were explained how to slow down, how to stop etc while zip lining.
Guys who do this are brilliant - very nice and helpful.
They will explain everything to you and if you are scared and dont want to do it on your own they will do it with you - so no worries! Worth every penny!
And true..book online in advance (they reply very quick) and pay in cash - this will give you 9$ discount and will cost you 70$ pp.
We did 8 pltforms and each one was great !
If I ever go back to DR will have to do it again great fun. And as far I have been told they are looking into creating one long zip line which will be approx 1km long - ohhhh cnt wait hope they will manage to do it then will do it for defo!
Best wishes to whole team and hope to see you again!!
Hard to write a review without copying the others, but I'll give it a try. Went on the zipline tour 5/26. Picked up from our hotel at 8:00 AM by the guide in his pick-up. After about an hour drive or so up into the mountains we reached the base camp. Once there we realized that we were going to be the only two in the group, which was pretty cool! Make sure to book direct and online before you go, it'll save you $9/person!
Gearing up and teaching was quick and easy to understand. They did a great job explaining everything to us. Riding the ziplines was an absolute rush! Guides are fun and knowledgeable, with safety always in mind. Also, don't brake too much if they don't tell you to or you might get stuck on the cable! And as my wife can attest to, it is a lot of work to pull yourself to the next platform. I would suggest a morning tour if you can get it, because it was already getting hot by 10-11 AM. Also, sunscreen and bug repellent are good ideas. Water is provided as well as some tasty fruit at the end. On the way back we even stopped on the road to take a few beautiful pictures. Total trip took about 4 hours or so.
Yasika is a half day zip lining adventure in the hills around Puerto Plata. You are picked up and dropped off at your hotel and the owner (Cesar) is extremely knowledgeable of the local area and gives you an overview of the domincan republic. I and the girlfriend who was extremely nervous beforehand had a fantastic time and it is good fun. I would recommend Yasika to anyone and if you book directly (send an email to them) you get to go slightly cheaper. Yasika is the no. 1 attraction in Puerto Plata.
