This clean, well managed pension is on a quiet street in Zona Colonial. Our room (queen bed, day bed, small patio) was comfortable and secure. The front desk person was very attentive and called us by name minutes after arriving. From here it is easy to stroll to every site (and there are many) within the Colonial Zone. Breakfasts served were good... Fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs made to order, coffee. Downside: bar nearby could be noisy with music til midnight.

I had emailed the business over a month ago to reserve a room. Because of the heavy Spanish accent (workers in Dominican Republic that can't speak that well Spanish, go figure) I talked to two different staff. Kervens and handy they both told me that they had booked me for a room.
This was well over a month ago and because it was that long I contacted them mid month just to ask if I was still good and they emailed back saying yes.
Well the day of me coming to the place I called to confirm for the night and they told me that they don't have anything for me. I gave them the email and they acknowledge it but that they never put me in the system....

That was just plain irresponsible from the whole staff as I had been in contact with them throughout the month to get me a room. They said they had done it but it turns out they was just playing around and wasting my time.

I would not recommend this trouble to anyone, so best looking somewhere else.

This hotel is perfectly located in a 400/500 year old building right in the colonial zone near the Cathedral and Fort. There is a beautiful rustic appeal to the very quiet rooms decorated with dark wood and a little outdoor sitting area directly in front of the room. The breakfast was outstanding and the people working there are very friendly and overanxious to assist. Enjoy your stay as this place is part of Dominican culture.

After seeing all the excellent reviews here I expected more. Although I specifically requested a room that had good wifi they put me in one with no reception! They finally changed my room to one close to reception with only a small window into the hall. Both rooms were very basic and fairly clean, and the breakfast the next morning a real disappointment. The location is great for visiting the colonial zone and if they fix up the rooms it would be a great place to stay.

Room tip: Try to get a room with a window to the exterior!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Colonial style building with sweet rooms. AC and hot water worked beautifully! Great location within Zona Colonial. A short walk to square with wonderful dining options.
