Manny and Oly were extremely professional and very fun to travel with. They picked us up on time, brought us to our destination, and were very easy to communicate and work with. We had a great time and would recommend them to everyone (especially those who are nervous about getting non-English speakers; both Manny and Oly were raised in the US and their English and Spanish were both perfect).

To go to the Chavon river Manny picked us up in Santa Domingo, it took a bit more than two hours to get there. The last stretch would not have been easy without a 4-wheel drive. The nature and wildlife area was also taking in animals for their protection. Two guides took us on seven zip-lines through the jungle, they were very professional - safety first. Nice views and exciting zipping and for good measure they threw in some repelling.

We had some snacks, fruit and sandwishes as we waited out the worst of the rain before the kayaking on the river. The fauna and flora was amazing, the simple fishing and cattle hearding activities by the locals really framed the rainforest setting.

Everyone was very friendly and Manny was extremely knowledgable and willing to share.

All in all a very memorable experience that we can highly recommend.

Thank you Oly and Manny for taking us to Cayo Arena. It was an awesome experience and really one for the book to remember. Our little two-year old is so happy, she keeps talking about riding the boat again.

Manny and Oly are great tour guides, they are very professional yet friendly and informative. We can tell that they take pride with what they do and really know what places to see. They go above and beyond on what is expected from a guided tour. This is our second experience with them as our tour guide and we are very satisfied both times. We are planning on going again for more tours with them.

Kudos to your boat captain- he is great. That ride through the mangrove was awesome, he handled his boat like a pro!

My girlfriend (Dominican) and I (Belgian) went with Explora! Ecotour to Salto Aguas Blancas, Valle Nuevo, Ebano Verde, Pico Duarte and Laguna/Playa Limon in August 2013. Our feedback is in line with the feedback of the vast majority of the people here: simply excellent.

This was my second trip to La Republica, but my first experience with this agency. I think they exceed the average tour operator in the country. Manny & Oly are very nice people, they are very knowledgeable about their country, especially about its nature, they offer a wide variety of tours over the island, and they really care that you enjoy the excursion at maximum. If you love nature, do consider booking your excursion with them. I'm returning to La Republica in December, and my girlfiend & I will book again some tours with Manny & Oly for later this year.

I had a great experience with Explora Ecotour. Manny was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Dominican Republic. He was very willing to answer all of my questions…and I am a very curious person! His SUV was very comfortable and air conditioned. We did a private tour and a group tour. The private tour was expensive but worth every cent and I would recommend it to anyone!
Our private tour was to Saona Island. Manny picked us up at our resort in Boca Chica. We took a speed boat from the mainland to the Island. The ride was choppy but we didn’t mind. It was a beautiful boat ride with variations of blue water. We stopped to look at some limestone cliffs then we stopped at our private virgin beach. The water was clear crystal blue and the perfect temperature. Manny gave us some free time to explore on our own. We walked down and found an area with some interesting wildlife in the water. We found lots of seashells with living animals inside of them. Lots of little fish were swimming right by our feet. Make sure and take your bug spray since we got bit up by a bunch of little bugs out of nowhere! We didn’t even feel them biting us so be careful. Manny took us to the flamingo lagoon which wasn’t very far from the beach. It was very smelly but really interesting. There weren’t actually any flamingo. From here the boat took us to the only village on the Island called Mano Juan. It was extremely beautiful and peaceful here. The little houses were all different colors and the people were very friendly. We had our authentic Dominican meal of fish, chicken, and coconut rice right on the beach. We walked around and did a little shopping. Manny then took us to the sea turtle conservation. There were many coolers with baby sea turtles and eggs. This increases the chances of their survival. This man started this project on his own and it is quite inspiring. Sea turtles are endangered and he wants to help them out of the kindness of his heart. Next we went to the sand bar where it was shallow enough to touch. We found some star fish and had a nice refreshing swim. That was the last stop on our tour. We enjoyed out boat ride back to the mainland.

Overall it was a great day. We never felt rushed or crowded. Manny knew lots of the locals which was nice. We left that trip more educated about the DR. It was so refreshing to see the locals so happy and content with their lives even though they didn’t have much.
